Race history

Profile

We kick off the month of February with a new edition of Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. The Belgian race is not only the first cobbled race of the season but the very first PCT mandatory race in history!

A mixture of old, well established riders such as pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2026/Micros/grm.png

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2026/Micros/grm.png

Per,

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2026/Micros/dwg.png

Wisniowski, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2026/Micros/bmf.png

Spengler on the startlist meet the new up and commers such as pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2026/Micros/brc.png

Girmay and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2026/Micros/pgt.png

Rutsch.

And while there are quite a few riders who could get mixed up in the fight for a top 10 position, when it comes to the win we can realistically only add pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2026/Micros/lpu.png

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2026/Micros/lpu.png

Gamper,

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2026/Micros/trg.png

Ovsyannikov and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2026/Micros/ubs.png

Jacobs to the previosly mentioned riders as contenders.

No previous winners at the start of the race, but two of three of the riders who finished on the podium last year return: pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2026/Micros/eve.png

Schreurs and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2026/Micros/tlt.png

Tediashvili.

This is a win goal, so that is the hope here. I mostly hope that Bini goes about this the smart way instead of attacking from far out, and that Habimana and co are strong enough as the support. I'd be content with a Top 3, Top 5 is the absolute minimum.

Thanks for the preview alex, looking forward to the race!

Alongside KBK, this is the cobbles race we expect the least from. Too flat for Stewart to do something - I guess had we trained him to 77, he might have a good outside shot (given his nice Fl), but without this training we'd be happy if either him or Sommer get a Top 30.

Good luck to all!

Well here we go this Stav/Lapeira 1-2 punch can work really well (Stav gets leader role and Lap sprinter role) so they end up both riding near the front and can get some really cool team results be shocked if we didn't at least get two top 15 think this is a harder cobbled race so Stav should have a good shot at top 5 too

Bini huge fav as Cunego says only thing that will beat him is himself tactically
