@Fabianski: I think it would've been reasonable if MVD and Boileau would've finished 1st and 9th, with McCormick and Kulikovskiy in the 20s. We got the positions reversed but GC points wise I wouldn't say this was an outlandish result. The only extra would have to be Haverdings getting the White Jersey. That was definitely unexpected! Also, Paez did beat MVD on Willunga and in the GC though
I'll take Paez beating MVD any time, but he should beat McCormick first
Tbf, if Paez had simply been in the front group on the last day (which honestly he should as a Top 5 GC rider ^^), I'd be more than happy with the race, now it's a pretty sour taste.
Btw, I think McCormick is indeed a better suited rider for TDU than Boileau (who will be better in most other races), because of his sprint. He's definitely not a random winner, but not an expected one, either Agree that MVD would have been a logical winner though (had one of MVD, Madouas or APP up there).
