At this point, I assume everyone would be surprised if I didn't plan on doing a lot of transfer business. Luckily for those of you who enjoy my attempt to test the limits of the transfer sheet, I don't plan on changing that approach at this point, though there are fewer definite departures planned this time around:

In theory only Mihkels is definitely off the table, though I expect others will end up being so in practice. However, I've been wrong about that before...
The * riders are only likely to leave if required to clear cap space or raise funds to enable us to bring in targets that we think will make us stronger even with their departure. That means if you're interested in one of these riders, it's worth getting in touch as you never know what kind of deal might be possible.
The ** riders are riders we don't mind keeping, as we think they will be able to contribute at the level we need in PT relative to their current wages. However, they all have a price where it would likely make sense for us to sell, and as they don't belong to our wider regional focus we would be unlikely to turn down a good deal in the event one was offered.
The *** riders we are actively looking to sell, though not at any price - we'd still hope to get a fair value for them. There is definitely a surprise or two in there, but we're realistic about where we need to get our squad to in order to a) survive this season and b) compete at the top of PT in the next few years, which means some ruthlessness is unfortunately required.

Interesting availability list, surprised to see Mansouri after him being relatively untouchable last season. Looks like you're going to be in for a fairly busy transfer period

It's a shame as I really like his stat combination, but his wage is too high for what he'll realistically offer in PT. Not opposed to keeping him but I suspect the value for money won't be there!
As a quick note to anyone trying to contact me, I won't be around until 10pm site time at the earliest this evening. We let Chris Hamilton and Yaroslav Parashchak leave as part of a swap deal with DK Žalgiris, which saw two talents from our wider focus region arrive in return, with an eye to our future. Mateusz Gajdulewicz is more of a pure climber, who we think can become a stage hunter in the final week of Grand Tours, while Karlis Klismets is more of a well rounded stage racer with a preference for harder stages.

It wouldn't be transfer season without some sort of deal between us and ELCO - ABEA, would it? Xuban Errazkin, Stavros Theorpanous and Alexys Brunel headed off to Greece and in their place came a small amount of cash and three new arrivals. While we're weaker in the short term from the swap, we think it was the right move thinking about the timeline for the team to be competitive.
Alexander Hajek headlined the deal, being a rider who we think will in time excel on medium-mountain stages and be solid whenever the road goes up hill. Edgar Andres Pinzon is a slightly older talent for his stage of development, but will in time become a pure climber with great endurance, while Mats Wenzel can contribute in stage races now and for many years to come. All three may only have a temporary stay with us depending on other deals, but for now we're very glad to have them on the team.

Finally, our big addition. Andres Camilo Ardila may seem an unusual rider for us to spend 1.9m on, but we think there is potentially a lot of untapped value to be had with him. Given his struggles over longer distances, we envisage keeping him away from hilly classics and focusing on the mountains, where we think he can use his punch to good effect. Add in his relatively young age for a rider of his quality, and we're delighted to have him on board, as he will still be at his peak in the same window as the years after Mihkels completes his development. |

There's a very real chance that happens at some point, yes...
This was the easy part. See the below update for the really tricky deals
You thought that our early deals would be the most chaotic part of our transfers? Surprisingly not! Nur Aiman Zariff and Hamza Mansouri departed in a swap deal for cash and three riders, and that was somehow the most simple part of the deals we made yesterday. Mathieu van der Poel and Laurence Pithie got involved in increasingly complicated and expensive deals before they finally departed, with a lot of cash and another rider joining us in return. And at one point last night I swore I never wanted to negotiate a deal again, such was the headache I had caused...
But on a more positive note, more new signings!

As part of the return from the Zariff and Mansouri trade, Valens Ndayisenga, Matthew Teggart and Alvaro Hodeg joined the team. We're not sure how long the former two riders will be with us, as we may look to sell them on, but if they do stay we'll be glad of the depth additions. Hodeg is a rider we wanted to sign due to his low wage and high number of RDs, as while his profile isn't ideal, he should be able to cover most of our non-Peak races as our sprinter.

The Pithie deal saw us pick up a large sum of cash, but also David Gaudu. He's another rider that we're unsure as to whether he'll be with us for the long term, but he has a good set of strengths that mean we wouldn't be sad to head into the season with him as part of our hills squad. Given we plan for Ardila to avoid the hills he would currently be our best puncheur, which isn't ideal, but options in that regard have been limited.

Our second free agent signing is a rider we've tracked for a long time, and another from our wider focus region. Sasu Helme is a solid enough stage race domestique, and his punch and willingness to attack means he may be able to sneak a few surprise results. He also is likely to be in our optimal TTT team, given how seriously we tend to take that discipline. |

A quieter 24 hour period for us saw Hugo Page be our only departure, and only one new signing arrive. We hope that isn't it in terms of excitement for this transfers on the dealmaking front, but we have a slight concern that it might be if nothing changes. However, we're still feeling good, as we secured our biggest talent target going into this transfers - and at what we feel was a very reasonable price!

While we were sad to say goodbye to Laurence Pithie, Tarling replaces him as our second premier talent alongside Mihkels, and with greater versatility as well. We're delighted to see him ride in our colours, and for what we feel was a bargain price as well. Even if we don't manage to avoid relegation this season, he will be a key part of our future, and so in that regard we consider it a worthwhile expense. |

Good thing Anderberg is having declines when Tarling maxes. Those Chrono d'Arenberg won't be fun anymore!
Super cool rider indeed! 14 routes to consider might be some kind of a record? Will be fun to see what you actually decide on. With a love for cobbles, I'll always cheer for a 79 cobbles route, eventhough I'm sure De Lie and a bunch of others will disagree |

Ardila is an interesting project. I agree with you that i rate him higher as a climber than a puncheur so will be interesting how he will do in GTs
