Anything but a fight between Haig and Morton would be a surprise today.
A group of 56 riders enters the final climb together, from now on it’s 16 km uphill.
Vine attacks rather early in the climb and drags Schultz, Sunderland, Haig and Plapp with him.
It took quite some time for Berwick to bring Morton back to the front, but with 6 km to go we finally have a leading group of 11.
Haig made the pace for most of the remaining climb with Morton mostly at the back of the melting group, but with 1.3 km to go they are finally alone at the front with only Plapp somewhere near.
And in the end Morton had a bit more left.
Congratulations to Morton to what will probably be his last RR NC title!

[NC] Time Trial
It’s a rather open field in the ITT with the likes of Howson, Plapp, Haig, Hepburn and Durbridge all in the mix.
Hepburn sets a bar of 1h06’40.
Haig misses the lead on the fractions.
Plapp is more than a minute slower than the best time.
Durbridge nearly caught him, his time is 43’’ better than the previous lead.
Howson misses the best time by 21’’ and comes in 2nd.
