Stage 10 Report

Stage 10 marks the end of the hilly phase of the race. So far the hilly stages have been evenly distributed with wins for pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/pum.png Herklotz, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/xr0.png Areruya, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/cdb.png Aranburu, and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/fas.png Guerreiro and one for the break. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/akm.png Valter probably the biggest name to miss out so far. Today’s stage includes the largest clibmbs yet on a hilly stage with two Cat 1’s on the route but the second peaks 18k before the end of the 173k stage, so it might be one for the break. The KOM jersey will definitely be in pay as winning a Cat 1 is enough to tie the rider for 2nd in that competition.

Camrda leads the break through the first sprint point with 128k to go. The lead is 3’55. Gazelle doing some chasing today along with Fastned, UBS and Carlsberg.

Chumil (12+16=28) times his sprint best to take maximum points on the climb. Delco (12+12=24), Camrda (16+10=26), Berwick (18+8=26) and Girdlestone (0+6=6) are next. Chumil with the virtual KOM lead.

The peloton crosses the top 3’34 behind. 100k to go.

With 50k to go the break’s lead is 2’52. The break didn’t sprint at the second sprint point. Peloton down to 130, mostly sprinters and their lead out men dropped.

The break starts the 2nd climb with a lead of 1’29. Bet they wish they were out on the water going for a nice sail. Gazelle very committed to the chase, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gzl.png Warchol has been taking turns. The climb is 6.9k at 7.7%. There are 25k left in the stage.

Fedeli leads Berwick over the top followed by Chaiyasombat, Rodriguez and Chumil. The cycleYorkshire man has done enough to retain his jersey (38-34 vs Chumil). Peloton back to 1’54 as they run out of riders willing to chase, this might go to the break.

As the peloton crosses the top Xero are dominant but they aren’t interested in the stage and the gap has ballooned to 3’03. 59 riders in the group including the Red Jersey pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/sfi.png Broxham and all the other major names. Up front Camrda, Girdlestone, Glivar and Rohendi have been distanced. Fedeli has a small gap on the rest of the survivors.
