Stage 2 Report

Stage 2 is similar to Stage 1, flat rated but with a fair amount of climbing. Today 5 Cat 3’s and a Cat 2 across 166k. Also 2 sprint points.

The first Cat 3 is just 4k into the stage. Yesterday’s two KOM gladiators battle it out up the climb with the final punch being landed by pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/enb.png Romele. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/dna.png Hayashibara is 2nd. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ofg.png Yamada and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/tzk.png Buck-Gramcko join them right at the top to take 3rd and 4th. These 4 look like the break of the day as they already have 1’21.

There are some more attacks but nobody else gets away.

Romele seize control of the KOM competition by winning he lone Cat 2 on the stage. Hayashibara falters badly near the top and settles for 4th. Peloton at 4’52 with 127k to go.

Romele makes it 3 for 3 on the next Cat 3. Hayashibara does grab 2nd. The Bianchi rider now leads by 44 to 36. Peloton at 2’22 with the Kraftwerk, Kone, Parmalat and Euskadi again working.

Yamada almost beats Romele at the next Cat 3 but the Italian gets it done. Hayashibara fails to score so Romele looking strong in the virtual standings now.

It is very close at the first sprint point. The order is Buck-Gramcko, Yoshida, Hayashibara and Romele. Peloton at 1’21 with 43k to go.
