Happy with another podium and third place means that we not completed all podium spots here in Suisse. Being so far down in the GC, Remco might as well go in the breakaway tomorrow

Phinney as expected. Top10 on the stage and luckily keeping the GC lead, which was the main goal for the stage.
Going into the next mountain stage as race leader might work better than as 2nd. So it`s all about defending it against a superior Bernal. Or more likely defending 2nd at least as on a normal stage 6s shouldn`t be enough for Phinney.
Thanks for the report and congrats to the winning team. |

If we don't count the mountain stage Reis would be fifth. I know it means squat but I have to find something positive here.

Now I'm really, really curious to see if we can get lucky on the final stage and maybe cling on to the KoM jersey for Salby. It could be possible if we're lucky with the breakaway, but also whoever of the favourites wins/do best on the final climb.
Bernal must be the overwhelming GC favourite here now. I mean, only the bonus seconds for 1st compared to 2nd place will do.
Thank you for the report again, kb! |

First of all thanks to wj for posting the last reports and congrats to roturn for a great race overall as well as all the other stage winners! It's only a shame the final stage didn't get any further GC action in the end. But like stated in the report Polar and my team seemed to be content to control the pace and had 6 riders each to do so. I don't know why Bernal didn't try something anyway, but maybe he didn't have the legs ...
For our own race I know why I don't like to report my own races (apart from having a much better insight on how my team is doing): it's been a great race (in fact probably our highest scoring ever), but I would have preferred someone else reporting such a success. But alas, Ranaweera finished were we reasonably could hope him to end after his Portugal outing. It's a bit disappointing that he once again missed the podium by a couple of seconds, but he also once again made the best of a favourable startlist in a PTHC race, so it's hard to complain. Especially when Garibian had such a strong race, taking white in the end was great enough, but 6th in the GC is just insane, meaning he scores nearly as good as Ranaweera and bringing us above 280 points in this race (not to forget the great overall team performance and the resulting depth points).

We needed Vine in the break to have a shot at succes here. Instead Ioannidis threw away his minor GC. Vine also had a bad day, and ultimately we come away with very limited GC succes. Still a decent race for us.
Very nice reporting throughout!
Big congrats to the teams having succes here. I see a couple of PCT teams that is likely very happy here, aswell as Roturn for the surprise GC win here. That’s really nice :-)

I hope this just means Reis isn't cut out for PTHC, even though I'm not fancying his chances in an uphill sprint anyway. Luckily all his other races are HC or C1.
Thanks for the reports kb (and posting wj). Congrats to roturn, the old master Phinney still has it in him

Well, he did go in the breakaway, but it didn't mean much in terms of gaining back GC places though it helped.
Congrats, roturn!
Thanks for the reports!
