 Tour de Suisse (PTHC) Discussion
A genuine PTHC stage race. Huge mountains, an ITT and flat stages. There's a bit of everything here in Switzerland.

Bernal and Phinney are the best all rounders here. Hard to look past them. The former going for back to back wins.
Latour stands alone in my opinion and should be a strong contender here. Depending on time gaps and how decisive the ITT is.
Ranaweera, Reis and Elosegui are the next big GC guys. The latter especially with his energy stats.
Novak could defintiely turn some heads in the mountain and hilly stages but if the ITT is decisive then unfortunately his finish in GC will be affected, although with a large Mountain stage after the ITT he could make up time. Same goes for Inkelaar however with a slightly lower hill ability, he may not be able to hold in during the hill stage.
Darbellay, Stüssi, Lasinis, Arensman, Kirsch and Mavrikakis all have a chance of getting a great GC finish with a high mountain and TT combination.
Powless and Leknessund are definitely ones to watch, depending on how selective the race is.

Groenewegen does not have much competition here and with the team he has for a leadout, should quite easily be able to get at least a win.
Aniolkowski and Vesely will try really hard to stop the Aker - MOT fast man from taking a clean sweep and the green jersey.
Other contenders include Welten, Kamberaj, Hodeg and Kennett. The latter being on excellent form and could upset the big favourites.

Bernal and Mullen are are the favourites here. Same team and could get Polar some excellent points!
Powless and Beniusis will try to defeat the Polar duo.
Vernon, Phinney, Tanfield and Evenepoel are big contenders here. Especially the latter who may also have a chance GC wise if there is not too much selection or seperation in the big stages.

Mohoric should really take this win on stage 3. There are not many who can compete with him in the hills.
Kron is the next best but there is a clear divide in ability between the two.
Jensen, Evenepoel, Novak, Kwiatkowski, Guerreiro and Sossa all get a mention but will need to be in incredible form to take the win away from the EA Vesuvio puncheur.
This is shaping up to be an incredible stage race! Good luck everyone!

Guess I should have brought Giannoutsos here instead of Dauphine. He would have had a good shot at top 10, maybe even fighting for top 15. We went for Ioannidis as a Leader and a lot of potential breakaways instead. Zingle is also too far Down to have a real shot of scoring points.

All in for Groenewegen here! Brought the train, and really hope we are able to deliver. If so, this can be a massive, massive race for us, similar to last season's Dauphine.

Just excited to watch this one from a CT perspective. These are the types of races we are hoping to one day get a chance to race - a very well balanced stage race with something for everyone (except where is the TTT - all races should have one of those)
Not sure anyone could possibly take down Bernal here, especially with Phinney slightly more likely to struggle on the later stages. Powless could certainly fight above his weight if he can stay in contention on the mountains.

We've got a good team here.
Aniolkowski should be good in the sprints.
Decided to give it a shot with Remco here, but the mountain stages will probably be too tough for him. Given how ToNE played out this year, the race days would have been better spent there.
Not sure why I brought Kron here, given that Remco should also go for the hilly stage but here we go.

Phinney with decent support, Vesely without much.
So hopes are high for some solid scoring here. That said, Phinney wasn`t that strong lately and must be seen a huge gamble here.
Stage 1 already showed a big issue start list wise. Vesely was never meant to get his own train here. Obviously not working well and 5th is maximum I guess. Small points but at least something. Wasn`t expecting him to be top3 leadout sprinter here. Planning mistake. |

Groenewegen going close twice is promising, but we really want a win too! Cool to sit with yellow as a bonus, and then the KoM as a complete bonus.

Task failed successfully in stage one, I guess. Obviously van der Kooij winning is amazing, but no podiums for Aniolkowski sucks.
Remco close to the front is giving me hopes he's in for the GC here.
