Today is another flat stage, but at least there’s a cat. 4 climb 10 km from the finish to shake things up a bit.

There’s finally a bit of variation in the break today. We still have three familiar faces with pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/brc.png Habimana, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/sfi.png Holm Jorgensen and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/lpu.png Van Den Bossche, but they are joined by two (!) new riders in pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/brc.png Uhiriwe and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/pum.png Rutsch.

The leader enter the first climb of the day with a lead of 7 minutes.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/brc.png Habimana wins the KoM sprint and now has 16 points. If he also wins the other one at the end of the stage he’ll be tied for the classification lead.

The break fights for the points at the intermediate sprint and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/pum.png Rutsch takes the win. The peloton still trails by 3’42 with 65 km to go.

Are we in for a surprise today? The gap is still the same with 39 km to go, a breakaway win actually seems to be in the books today.

The peloton seems to think the same and hectically tries to close the gap. As a result the take 2 minutes off it in the next 15 km, but there are also some splits.

The split persists for now, but the gap is also down to a minute. In addition pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/brc.png Uhiriwe was dropped from the break after working for his teammate.

The four remaining leaders enter the last climb together but are also in viewing distance of the peloton. The split is undone for the moment, but everyone caught on the wrong side earlier has to be more attentive in the climb and the following descent.

The break is over 300 m from the top of the climb.

The sprint preparation is a lot more improvised today. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spz.png Van Poppel sits on the wheel of his leadout with pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ino.png Gavirias train by their side, while the Colombian himself sits way behind in 18th position.

With 2 km to go he has finally found his train, but that costed them the good position. The Puma train leads at the moment, but their three sprinters are still shuffling around.
