February is over, let's see what it gives in the rankings. Before heading over to the total points so far, we'll have a look at the month of February itself.
Specialized for the win! The Canadians didn't show themselves too well in the cobbled races, where you perhaps would most expect them, but a stellar Eritrea breakaway performance did make up for that, at least this month. Bralirwa - Cegeka and Lotto - Caloi are the other names on the February podium. The Rwandans have been consistent on different terrains and different race levels, whereas Lotto really scored big with Maxime Daniel in their home races Omloop het Nieuwsblad and GP Le Samyn.
Assa is fourth in a similar story to Specialized, worse than expected on the cobbles, making up for it in Eritrea. Trans in fifth then, mostly due to a s-peng-ctacular performance in Le Samyn.
At the bottom of the table some teams not liking this month at all, definitely due to the presence of cobbles as well. Those are Colombini, DeNa and Spark. Spark winning January, then being last in February. We'll see what that gives, after you have a quick look at the February table below.
| | CoP | OHN | Via | Rom | ToE | Yek | Tac | Sam | KBK | Gwe | Total | | Specialized | 0 | 68 | 0 | 44 | 212 | 0 | 40 | 22 | 65 | 0 | 451 | | Bralirwa - Cegeka | 0 | 71 | 9 | 52 | 101 | 0 | 0 | 58 | 113 | 35 | 439 | | Lotto-Caloi | 0 | 155 | 0 | 41 | 79 | 0 | 0 | 131 | 0 | 13 | 419 | | Assa Abloy | 0 | 55 | 0 | 95 | 165 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 47 | 0 | 362 | | Trans Looney Tunes | 0 | 16 | 0 | 0 | 48 | 0 | 0 | 171 | 56 | 0 | 291 | | Ekoi - Le Creuset | 0 | 53 | 33 | 0 | 21 | 0 | 0 | 15 | 149 | 15 | 286 | | DK Zalgiris | 0 | 87 | 80 | 0 | 96 | 0 | 0 | 16 | 5 | 0 | 284 | | Duvel-Tsingtao | 0 | 0 | 52 | 0 | 39 | 4 | 0 | 44 | 97 | 9 | 245 | | Hunter Valley Cycling | 0 | 70 | 0 | 53 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 50 | 55 | 12 | 240 | | Everesting | 0 | 104 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 5 | 39 | 84 | 0 | 234 | | JEWA TIROL | 0 | 7 | 0 | 0 | 82 | 0 | 0 | 5 | 70 | 0 | 164 | | Zwift - Newton Foundation | 0 | 0 | 50 | 0 | 10 | 0 | 0 | 98 | 5 | 0 | 163 | | Bolt - Eesti | 0 | 27 | 14 | 14 | 0 | 0 | 96 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 151 | | Simba Cement - Tanga Fresh | 0 | 36 | 28 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 9 | 0 | 43 | 118 | | Tryg - Eni | 0 | 15 | 41 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 18 | 43 | 0 | 117 | | Minions | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 87 | 7 | 0 | 94 | | IESE ProCycling Team | 24 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 11 | 27 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 67 | | Gjensidige Pro Cycling Team | 0 | 36 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 11 | 12 | 5 | 0 | 64 | | McCormick Pro Cycling | 0 | 0 | 27 | 0 | 22 | 0 | 0 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 54 | | Sauber Petronas Racing | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 26 | 0 | 17 | 10 | 0 | 0 | 53 | | MOL Cycling Team | 0 | 12 | 32 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 49 | | Colombini Kometa | 0 | 0 | 0 | 2 | 19 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 21 | | DeNA Roadstars | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 5 | 6 | 0 | 11 | | Spark Team NZ | 0 | 0 | 0 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 7 |
It gives... still a fourth place for Spark, not too bad. Assa Abloy takes over the lead though, with Specialized and Lotto also on the podium for now. MOL still in fifth after a quiet February.
At the bottom, teams like DeNa, Colombini and IESE ProCycling will have to start working on making the gap towards the other shrink again, as they're all below 100 points after two months.

Onto the rider rankings then. A little mistake by me to put the top-19 instead of top-20 visible. Apologies to Liu. Coquard remains in the lead with Ewan still wearing the silver medal, but a nice leap from Girmay gives us a fresh name on the podium. Other riders who made a big jump this month include Omloop winner Daniel, KBK winner and certified legend Zepuntke, two Specialized riders just short of 500 spots up, and Peng with a leap of 516 places.

Thanks for the update, Nemo!
Nice to sit at the top of the ranking, even with quite few race days spent so far. February was overall a good month with pretty decent scoring in all races, surprisingly highlighted by Eritrea. Wisniowski should probably have done a little bit better, but he’ll have some chances in March to improve.

19pprd with Kmieliauskas and Lutsenko not having raced at all. Not a bad start at all

Thanks for the update, Nemo (especially including another favourable mentioning of Ruben )!
We're scoring consistently, slowly climbing in the rankings and keeping the PpRD in a top 5 range. It's been a good start of the season, let's hope we can keep it up in March.

Gonna sound a bit spoiled here when I say this is actually a bad month which is reflected in the pprd. Battistella is the only upswing, obviously a very big and welcome one, in a sea of shit performances from Kaspa, which is reflected in four objectively worse cobblers being higher than him in the standings as of right now.
Colombini are going to need generational performances from Powless and Eastman to stay in the division, but since they haven't raced yet their situation is as dire as it seems for now.
Thanks for the update Nemo!

We are just 6 points shy of the 100 point mark. And we didn't send Novak or Cataford yet. But those first 2 months were already written off by my team anyway, so the February points haul is decent as far as I am concerned.

Thanks Nemo for the update!
Obviously thrilled with the podium spot, we’ll enjoy every minute of it while it still lasts.

We obviously dropped some positions here, but for this being our worst month on paper we still scored some good points.

Hmm, considering you outscored me by almost 200 points in a race that had both my best riders - not feeling too bad for you .
Eritrea was needed to prop us up this month. Otherwise all cobbles, so no surprise.

A bunch of cobbles and finishing our 2 days so no surprise to see it's a bad month for us, good news is none of our leaders raced this month and there's still plenty of season left to recover

Not great, but could have been much worse if Bram Welten didn't step up for us.

Very bad February but still up there thanks to Coquard in January. Hopefully we can improve in March with less cobbles races!

Schreurs in 10th place overall sums up quite well how he carried us this month. Have to reckon it's been a pretty lucky streak of results by him, but bringing in cobbles sub-leaders like him and Suroeda was exactly to offser these less hilly/mountainous months. Just wasn't expecting Schreurs to be outscoring Rodrigues and Stannard
Great month for Assa Abloy but Specialized, Lotto and Trans have been sticking out as well. Interesting season so far. Thanks for the update Nemo!

Much needed positive month for us, with Stallaert and the cobbles squad picking up the pace. Happy with the start of the season so far, hoping for mid table anonymity going forward…
