Welcome to the 15th edition of the Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne one day race. Not counting PTHC this serves as the 4th cobbled classic for the PCT division. I think it's fair to say that it's the easiest race of the four. There are less cobbles and less climbing on the parcour. We saw reduced sprints in the previous races so the odds are that we'll see a group sprint of some size again.
With that in mind let's look at some of the favourites:
| FL | HI | ST | RS | CB | SP | AC | Girmay | 77 | 71 | 76 | 76 | 79 | 77 | 76 | Wisniowski | 78 | 69 | 72 | 73 | 81 | 71 | 73 | Kasperkiewicz | 76 | 74 | 75 | 77 | 81 | 59 | 67 | Zepuntke | 72 | 69 | 79 | 72 | 82 | 72 | 65 | Tediashvili | 75 | 70 | 76 | 78 | 76 | 71 | 71 | Stallaert | 75 | 65 | 73 | 65 | 79 | 77 | 73 | Kuroeda | 74 | 63 | 72 | 73 | 77 | 74 | 78 | Gaday | 71 | 75 | 75 | 72 | 78 | 71 | 73 | Hvideberg | 78 | 70 | 74 | 74 | 76 | 65 | 65 | Polanc | 71 | 72 | 77 | 72 | 77 | 66 | 74 | Moulingui | 74 | 71 | 71 | 71 | 78 | 65 | 68 |
With an extra emphasis on sprinting Girmay comes out on top of the list. He is followed by the three strongest PCT cobblers in Wisniowski, Kasperkiewicz and Zepuntke. The foremost is a decent enough sprinter, but especially his compatriot Kasperkiewicz should want to avoid a sprint at all costs. Tediashvili has shown how dangerous he can be, but the rider who should love this race the most is Stallaert. The veteran Flandrien is a four time winner of this race and the less attritional aspect of the race is a perfect fit for him. Kuroeda should also fancy himself in a sprint if he can get there. Gaday prefers some more hills along the way, but he's got a solid finishing kick. Hvideberg, Polanc and Moulingui might need to take some risks if they want to go for a top result, or play it safe and likely get out sprinted by the faster guys.
| FL | HI | ST | RS | CB | SP | AC | Louvel | 77 | 72 | 75 | 78 | 76 | 67 | 67 | Schreurs | 72 | 67 | 75 | 75 | 77 | 72 | 71 | Pithie | 73 | 72 | 74 | 73 | 75 | 73 | 74 | De Witte | 74 | 68 | 75 | 72 | 75 | 71 | 69 | Sulimov | 72 | 69 | 75 | 69 | 78 | 64 | 69 | Nareklishvili | 72 | 66 | 73 | 73 | 77 | 64 | 71 | Giulietti | 73 | 69 | 75 | 73 | 75 | 66 | 69 | Orue | 69 | 64 | 77 | 70 | 78 | 53 | 58 | Boros | 72 | 72 | 71 | 67 | 76 | 63 | 64 | Summerhill | 71 | 66 | 66 | 62 | 76 | 63 | 63 |
Louvel and Schreurs are likely the last helpers for their leaders, but Schreurs could also assume that role if Kuroeda has an off day. If young Pithie can make it to a sprint finish in good condition then he's a dark horse for a very good result. De Witte is also an okay sprinter. The likes of Sulimov and Nareklishvili can maybe do their best work as high quality helpers for their respective leaders.

Even after a surprise podium at Le Samyn, Welten still gets overlooked and not mentioned in the preview here. Hopefully that provides some extra motivation to prove the pundits wrong once again.

Would be nice to get a surprise result from Pithie but I'm not expecting it. Dekker on the other hand, there's someone with the weight of expectation |

Welcome to the first big selective cobbled classic with the two big 4* sectors at the end the gaps here will be big!.
I'd imagine the long flat road at the end will see a group of 8-12 come to the finish so could see a Tedia or Grimay win depending who has the energy left
For Basso as per usual now just try and hit the top 30 here and gain some points anymore is a bonus

Thanks Red for the preview!
It's Rubens last chance to disappoint this month, but he'll have half a dozen ones in March as well But seriously: I'm (once again) hoping for a good result and a selective race, but if it ends in another sprint it would be helpful if the support cast for once isn't dropped entirely as someone like Lapeira would bexa good option there.

In hindsight Daniel could have done very well here. I’m curious how this will play out this time
Good luck everyone!

Our cobbles department has been on point so I'm optimistic. Would love to get another top10 here!

Hoping Wisniowski can continue to improve on his results so far this season. A podium here would be great!

Not the result we had hoped for, but good to see Wisniowski active nonetheless. Too bad he didn’t have any power left for the sprint. Manakov with another good result, and nice to see Rickaert in the top 30 as well.
Thanks for the report and congrats to Ekoi!

What a race from Ruben! He's clearly been the strongest today, not only being in three attacks (including his winning one) but in between also chasing down Wisniowski and Girmay on his own. That's obviously a great way to end our year-long drought. Also Louvel showed him great support and added some depth points on top.
Thanks to red for the great report and to all congratulators as well!
Spoiler Complaining over the previous cobbles results either really helped or was premature

Spoiler Complaining is never premature, so it must've helped ;-)
