No points unfortunately. If Edmondson stayed in the front group he could have sprinted to a nice points haul but not to be.

Congrats to the winner! and thanks for the report!

Given how unselecitve it was would have hoped for more from Eekhoff in the finale, still any day McCormick scores points in the cobbles is a good day (25th is points right, can never remember how far depth points go).

Congrats to Trans and Lotto both are on fire.

Congrats TinxiaS!

You always feel you did a good job on the preview when your only mention of the winner is in the startlist partEmbarassed:lol:Rolling Eyes

Decent race with both Bittner and Yecehezkel being active. Unfortunatly, we end up with three guys in the second group just outside the points.

No worries, at least you also missed the rest of the podium as well Pfft

But if someone had told me you'd only need to throw some mid-70s CO guys into the cobble races to do well I'd have saved the money for Zepuntke and went only with Louvel, Mestric, Reisen and Louvel instead Rolling Eyes At least we already have a solid squad for this approach if it proves to be the new normal.

I didn't really expect to see it to this degree. But in those easier cobbled races (only "yellow" cobbles) without any really long sections, pure cobbles skills isn't a decisive factor (anymore). Flat probably is just as important in races like Samyn - which still doesn't explain Kasper's failure, though... Don't know whether the cobbles difficulty would need to be tuned up again to make this a race for the best cobblers (and even then it's arguable whether Zepuntke would be among the best, due to his clearly lower Flat stat compared to Kasper, Wisni or Bini)...

This pretty much im sure every sector in Le Samyn is "only" 3 stars

Le Samyn irl is often won by sprinters. Most available variants are as difficult (or easy) as this one. We will have to look at making those harder if required.

Not every cobbled race should a tough Paris-Roubaix. A selective bunch sprint like Samyn, often in Kuurne as well, can be fun as well. Those COB/SPR guys should have chances as well.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Theuns' former self approves Grin
(Well, if Daniel can take 4th place here, I'm sure Eddie could still have done something similar - too bad that Polder didn't make it through the offseason Sad)

I'm well aware the cobbled races so far weren't the hardest ones or had a unique profile and also that Zepuntke isn't the one who should win all those races (or other ones if it comes to that). But the likes of him, Wisniowski, Kasperkiewicz, Girmay and Stallaert have a combined best result of 5th so far and they include the probably best COB/SPR guys as well.

To be clear: it's totally okay to have surprise results (I had my fair share of them last season) as otherwise we could just compare the stats and skip the races itself - and it's still early in the season, so there's still plenty of time for the best cobblers to shine. But if others can share their fears for stage races I felt it's never too early to complain about the AI / results in PCT cobbles as well Wink

And I'd never complain about the race/stage profiles as such! I tried stage making myself and found it really hard to do and nothing I did want to dive in further, so I'm fine with whatever profiles Ulrich (and at the moment it is just Ulrich who keeps this part of the game running) comes up with!

Thanks to KB for the shout out. Altering the difficulty of the cobble sectors is a pretty easy thing to do (much easier than making hills races harder) so if we find them all too non-selective we can do that. I agree a balance of ones with sprints among decent to good cobblers and true cobble armageddons is right.

Another good outing by our pair of cobbles leaders with a top10 to cap it off.

A surprise win indeed. Congrats TinxiaS. I agree this isnt the toughest cobbled race and shouldnt be going to the definite best cobblers of the division, but kb has a point in that so far cobbled PCT races have been kind to the theoretical best cobblers in the division. Something to keep an eye on.
