Circulo de Juarez (HC) Discussion
Hello all and welcome to the stage race of sprinters! This flat, 5 stage sprinters race in Mexico is a really important, exciting and unpredictable race. I say important because it is the first stage race test that the sprinters can compete in this year! This is for sprinters glory and some valuable early season points!
The profiles show that it is a sprinters heaven. Flat stages that barely have any elevation. A dream for any pure sprinter, and boy are there a lot of pure sprinters here this year!
| Rider | FL | RS | ST | SP | AC | Ewan | 75 | 71 | 73 | 83 | 81 | Coquard | 72 | 72 | 69 | 83 | 81 | Grosu | 72 | 69 | 73 | 82 | 79 | Dainese | 76 | 76 | 75 | 81 | 82 | Enger | 73 | 73 | 71 | 81 | 78 | Peak | 80 | 77 | 73 | 80 | 78 | Liu | 74 | 69 | 76 | 80 | 80 | Einhorn | 74 | 71 | 71 | 80 | 78 | Walls | 74 | 71 | 73 | 80 | 78 | Jakobsen | 74 | 73 | 75 | 80 | 80 | Willwohl | 73 | 67 | 71 | 79 | 78 | Perera | 71 | 73 | 69 | 79 | 80 | Adomaitis | 75 | 74 | 66 | 79 | 78 | Ahlstrand | 70 | 67 | 68 | 79 | 76 | Riabushenko | 76 | 74 | 71 | 79 | 77 | Kamberaj | 75 | 73 | 73 | 79 | 78 | Welten | 76 | 71 | 72 | 79 | 75 |
The top 2 sprinters in the division are here to compete against each other. Ewan and Coquard should be considered top favourites, with the latter being the defending champion. Grosu and Dainese will be right there competing, although I worry about the acceleration and resistance of the former.
Enger, Peak, Liu, Einhorn, Walls and Jakobsen are considered the secondary favourites. This race has a tendency to be unpredictable though so I would not be counting anyone out here in Mexico!
Willwohl, Perera, Adomaitis, Ahlstrand, Riabushenko, Kamberaj and Welten are also on the favourites list. All of these riders (plus a few more) could surprise and win a stage here, however, consistency will be key here for the GC win and that is where the team comes in to play.
| Rider | FL | RS | ST | SP | AC | Coutinho | 71 | 72 | 73 | 78 | 78 | Waersted | 73 | 78 | 69 | 78 | 79 | Afewerki | 72 | 69 | 76 | 78 | 79 | Hesters | 75 | 75 | 74 | 78 | 78 | Dekker | 77 | 77 | 81 | 77 | 76 | Zhao | 74 | 74 | 68 | 77 | 81 | Stash | 73 | 73 | 68 | 77 | 77 |
Coutinho (Dainese), Waersted (Enger), Afewerki (Coquard), Hesters (Jakobsen), Dekker (Peak), Zhao (Riabushenko) and Stash (Ewan) will play an integral role in delivering their leaders to the line while also keeping them safe throughout the 5 days. Zhao has excellent acceleration and should be mindful of dropping his leader in the initial part of the final leadout, although I am sure McCormick has a plan in place!

Thanks for the preview!
Excited to watch the chaos unfold from afar as we opted out of this band when we had different plans in transfers than what we ended up with

One of the more important races on the calendar for us. Crossing my fingers Dainese will do well and that the train has slightly better timing than in Down Under Classic.

Very important race for us and the first test, whether signing Grosu was a good decision for us. Boudat did well in Australia sprinting wise, can Grosu follow up?
Looking forward to an exciting race!

Thanks Jakstar for the preview!
Top 10 is the minimum goal for Liu. Curious to see how it pans out with this competition.

Thanks for the preview - stacked field but some positive results from Perera are absolutely possible. Not much to distinguish the top 5-15 or so, so all we need is a bit of luck and some good vibes. Maybe some of our talents will also get some nice breakaway exposure, as I doubt we'll be setting up a sprint train of our own.

Brother what, how useless has Houcaine become on this version. Sitting at the front at the final km and then just vanishing to barely getting top 20. Fuck me this is the year we die

Not the best start but 7th in GC. Congrats to Ewan and MOL for the victory in stage 1! Well deserved. Lets hope stage 2 is better for Coquard and we can move up the order a bit!
Thanks for the report KB

Will absolutely take 10th here. Great to see Perera able to freelance in the sprint and get himself in the mix. Good start to a tough race, now to keep it up in the coming stages.

Tbf there are 17 riders with better SP in this race (+5 with equal SP and better AC).

Good start. Much better timing on the train here than in the season opener and a 3rd place gives us something to build on. Hopefully we can be consistently in the top.

14th for Ahlstrand was the best we could get. 2nd for Malmberg in the U25 is somewhat uplifting for the morale after the stinkers that were San Jose and TDU (at least KHJ proved he had something in the tank left)
Thanks for the report KB

Adomaitis yet to make an impact is worrying, but admitedly it's a tough field for him.
Our blessing seems to have come from elsewhere with Muhindo bossing that breakaway. Oshri up there as well despite losing time is encouraging. Curious to see how they fare in the next few days.
Congrats on a fair and deserving win, jaxika!

Kamberaj's TDU got better as the stages went one. Taking sixth on the opening stage is a suggestion things are looking fine and we are going for a top classification.

Good start for Ewan taking the first stage. Will be interesting to see if he can make this a big one, or if the sprints will be random-party
