Welcome to Africa and the cyclingcrazy Rwandan town og Kigali, best known for the disaster in 1994 where upwards 1 million Tutsi inhabitants were killed in what's known as the Kigali Genocide.
Fortunately we are here in more jolly entries where we celebrate the GP Kigali race which has featured in the MG universe since 2015, where Danny Summerhill won the race for Azteca-NBCSN. An ageing Danny Summerhill was also the hero of the race last time as he won the race for the 3rd time - this time for Tryg-Gobyk.
Danny Summerhill is back in his attempt to make his 4th win, but it seems increasingly unlikely that he will do so, despite having had a solid season with top results in both Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne and Roma Maxima. The route is similar to last season and clearly invites the best C1 cobblers. Having a clash with Tour of Denmark (Post Danmark Rundt) shouldn't have much of an impact as the riders favoring either race should have limited overlap.
Some big names are here to compete for the win. Let's have a look at those in contention:
| Name | FL | HI | CO | SP | Zepuntke | 72 | 69 | 82 | 72 | Kasperkiewicz | 76 | 74 | 81 | 59 | Stallaert | 76 | 66 | 80 | 78 | Gamper | 77 | 66 | 80 | 64 | Daniel | 72 | 68 | 79 | 75 | Summerhill | 74 | 69 | 79 | 66 | Jacobs | 76 | 69 | 79 | 67 | Moulingui | 74 | 71 | 78 | 65 | Owen | 73 | 69 | 78 | 64 | Debesay | 74 | 73 | 78 | 68 | Richardson | 71 | 67 | 78 | 60 | Orue | 69 | 64 | 78 | 53 | Ovsyannikov | 74 | 68 | 77 | 79 | Benoot | 71 | 81 | 76 | 69 |
Obviously you need to be a top cobbler to be in contention for the win here, so the obvious choice is to look at riders like Zepuntke, Kasperkiewicz, Stallaert, Gamper and Daniel as the main favorites. Out of those only Kasperkiewicz and Gamper will look to break away towards the end, as the others could rely on their sprints if they manage to get rid of riders such as Ovsyannikov, who should be the fastest winning candidate in the race.
A lot of riders can contest the top 10 if they ride smart, including last years winnier Summerhill. Riders like Van Lerberghe, Kuroeda brothers and Boutopoulos could also mix it up if the race get's a bit chaotic.

Very hilly, so I brought Van Poucke as backup. I think?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Last cobbles outing of the season for Kaspa, hopefully he closes it out with a win!
Thanks for the preview SotD and thanks for posting Abhi!

Home race! Big one for us of course, but expectations aren't super high. Joeri finished 2nd and 3rd here in the past two years, but he's been dropping on average around 5 places in each of his races this year compared to years past. It would be very disappointing to see him drop out of the Top 10 even with his decreasing hill and physical attributes. Anything in the Top 5 is a success, and then he passes the baton to Bini and Habimana, one of whom will hopefully eventually deliver us a win here.
Thanks for the preview, very much looking forward to the race!

Would be fun to see Benoot use his climbing skills here, but it's probably more likely to be a finish with the more pure cobblers.

Last chance for Jacobs to score some points, though have to already consider his season a success. Thanks for the preview and very much looking forward to the race.

Benoot does have a couple of Top 10 finishes here, and a repeat would be fine with some minor points added by the support team. Anything better would be great.
Thanks for.the preview.

Lets find the breakaway! We've got a few guys in the top category, but if Dunkerque is anything to remember, finding points from there will be tough. We just don't have the hills capability to make the difference.
I could see more than a few Turtles doing well with an early buffer though so that they don't have to crush the climbs at such a strong rate. Not trying to win, just SOME points please.

Thanks for the preview, SotD!
It's Daniels last cobbled race of the season, so hopefully he'll end his campaign on a high.

Nice preview, SotD.
Fingers crossed for Zepuntke magic in a race that shouldn't suit him perfectly.

Can't be unhappy with 5th here, but depth points doesn't really amount to anything at C1 level in one day races, so it's about it for us, despite flooding the top 20 (21).
Still another good cobbled race for us. Feels very unatural for us to perform this well in cobbles

Oh wow, I wasn't expecting Gamper to still win a classic this year, but he sure proved me wrong! Thanks for the report JT!

10th on its own from Stallaert would've been a bit sad, but Teggart has really stepped up this year and with his 8th place, that's an overall decent result for us here. Habimana just outside of the points, but showing glimpses of what hopefully can be in a few years.
Congrats Ollfardh and thanks for the nice report jt!

Thanks for the report, jt, and congrats to Ollfardh!
9th for Daniel is okay given the hilly finish and two more riders in the points makes it an okay race overall.

2nd is great from Benoot! Could've used some depth scoring but can't complain too much.
Congrats to Ollfardh and thanks for the report jt

We will take the final podium spot which puts Kaspa around the 600 points mark which was what I calculated for him at the start of the season! Thanks for the report and congrats to Ollfardh and Abhi on the other podium spots!

Well 6th is better than nothing, but not what we had hoped for. Could and should have been a podium, but in the end Debesay made some wrong decisions.
Congrats to the podium guys and thanks for the report!
