Tenorio quietly plodding along is good to see. Hopefully he can keep it up and finish in the top-10 somewhere - we have a lot of RD’s this month, but they’re all basically a waste and we won’t really have many scoring opportunities so really need to make the most of this here. Congrats on the wins Laurens!
Thanks for the lovely reports also

If i missed any riders being dropped I apologies but such an epic stage there was a lot happening
Pretty sure Polar just rode off the front round a bend and because there was no teammates near the front the game just let them go.
Cool to see the peloton trying to figure out how to bring them back behind without burning the leaders themselves and then getting close enough for the leaders to then attempt to do it. Looked like Oomen and Kudos just ran out of energy then Mcnulty's teammate wasn't strong enough so it ended in a stalemate felt really realistic and a pretty cool stage
No idea what happened to Novak and Tenorio while Calmenje could still follow other then he had a teammate with him and they didn't or there was some Hill factor in the stage which seems possibly looking at Bernals performance |

Ouch. Complete disaster for Novak and us, really Feared the worst seeing the picture where Kragh was still in the group, but also where Novak clearly wasn't. It's another GC down the drain where Novak doesn't really get to show what he is capable of, which is a pity. Especially as it's his final race this season, and to be completely honest, he has GC wise been a big miss, unfortunately. He has done things to compensate for it, and his riding style is brilliant. But completely missing out on a race like this is a big problem, as he should have been well set for a good GC here.
Big congratulations to beagle on the 1-2! What a team performance, really! Also thank you for the report, jt! Enjoyed the coverage of the front group and Polar's mission. That was very enjoyable, and as you write in your notes, looked to be a very cool stage. |

Weird stage, but I guess we're still sort of on course... for now.
Plenty of time left still to mess it up.

Great performance from Calmejane (again) But in the long run I'm looking at Quintana for GC who is also doing good. Fingers crossed!
Congrats beagle with the 1-2

Exciting but weird stage, making the podium much more difficult. Maybe we should just attack tomorrow.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Man, those 1-2 winners on mountain stages are so unoriginal ...

Funny stage Not sure I've ever seen something like this, but not sure it'll have mattered too much in the long run. I'm a bit surprised that MOL wasn't able to control it a bit better given their good climbing support, but perhaps Ardila is not high enough on the list of favorites for them to take that action, and Moser just wasn't strong enough I guess.
Meintjes did what he had to do, solid riding by him, though still a lot of work to be done to finish in the Top 10. Uwizeyimana and Ndayisenga also on course for decent depth scoring, hopefully that continues. Blouwe not the best choice as a breakaway rider, but at least we're active, hopefully that continues, too.
Thank you for the nice report (and the inclusion of the profile) jt, looking forward to the remaining ones!

Well, what a stage... I guess the lack of quality domestiques for Kudus may have allowed this insanity. The race seems to be over, but hopefully Kudus at least attacks next time for that 2nd place before final TT.
What a great win for you, congrats beagle!

That was a careyzy stage. Congrats on the dominant win, beagle! Chiarello with a stunning ride as well. Would love to have one of my riders doing something like that. Ever.
Thanks for the great report, jt, really well narrated!

Congrats Beagle! What a win and ride from your team, perfectly executed. Thanks for the report too jt, wonderfully done
Didn’t expect Tenorio to hang on with all of the big boys up the final climb, but to lose that time right at them end like that sucks. Esp considering a non-climber like Calmejane hanging on too, maybe hill did have an effect but still a shame. Onwards and upwards though, hopefully he can hang in there and crush the final TT to land somewhere in the top-10.

Impressive ride by Polar, punishing the other favorites for sleeping and not bringing as strong of a support. I'm happy that at least CHaiyasombat was able to be with McNulty until quite late into the stage. |

That's a great, great try from Novak and the team! Got excited when we took responsibility, and that was super close on success. Can't ask for more. The next stage should be much too hard to fight for the stage, but maybe the stage podium is possible if he is on a massive day. Or he can join breakaway fun, maybe that should be the preferred option to make him a potential late contender for Chiarello's jersey Though, doubt he will be allowed by the AI due to his stats.
GC is gone, and the final day will also be a no show for us, which makes it all to play for on stage 6
Big congratulations on the win, cunego! That was a very cool and tense finish |

Nice Quita again with the attack. Unfortunately, this season, he's not able to really make anything stick. |

Wow, what a phenomenal ride by Meintjes! He is suited to these types of finishes, but to actually win one, seemingly with perfect timing on the line, is still a suprise. With the bonus seconds and the gap behind Kudus, this opens the door for a much better GC finish than would've been expected, but tomorrow will be very tough and it wouldn't be a shock if Louis lost a few places again. Probably heavily depends on how aggressive the other contenders are.
The rest of the team again did its job. I'm curious if perhaps Ndayisenga might be allowed/motivated to be in the breakaway tomorrow, wouldn't be against it. But Meintjes/GC does have priority now, of course.
Thanks for the great report jt, and thanks for the congrats ember

At least we're sending the experienced riders in the break now instead of the youngsters who are lucky to finish the stage. I'm still hoping Vosekalns can do something on tomorrow's big mountain stage.
Congrats cunego!

I wonder what happened to my team Yesterday. It said Novak exploded, but considering that He was with Mavrikakis at the time - Mavrikakis must have imploded entirely. Had some hopes of a top 20 for him, but He isn’t even in the top 100 as my Leader. Strange…
Atleast we keep on attacking. Not really getting a lot from it, but it’s more fun to follow atleast.

Luckily I have the replay saved to check these things
The rider with the Gazelle/Novak was Soulias not Mavrikakis who watching the climb back sat himself right at the back to begin the final climb and was blocked for most of the first few KM and ended up miles back.
Hope that clears that up |
