Bakhtiyar KOZHATAYEV. He showed just how evenly matched the competitors were, finishing just one second down on pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/twm.png

VANHOUCKE for a time of 14'45".

Will BARTA won the white jersey back in 2021 He probably won't end up competing for the GC, but he good in a good showing today with a 14'44".

Mhd Afif AHMAD ZAMRI showed just why he was the Malaysian timetrial champion, also finishing in 14'44".

VANHOUCKE from the hotseat by lowering the time to beat to just 14'41". He wouldn't take the overall victory, but he would beat out a number of GC contenders.

Daniel MUNOZ was the slowest of the bunch at 15'01". He has really struggled thus far in stage races. We know he has the potential from his showing in Hallstatt, so his manager will doubtlessly be hoping to chalk this one up to weaknesses on the TT-bike.

Jaka PRIMOZIC. A time of 15'00" suggests he might not be repeating his heroics from Catalunya.

Dion SMITH seems like a good shout for a Top 10. His time of 14'52" is not a good start.

Luis Enrique LEMUS DAVILA was one of the earlier riders on the course and even enjoyed a brief stint in the hotseat with a time of 14'43".

That is also enough to see him taking the final spot in the Top 5 ahead of pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/eth.png

Pierre Paolo PENASA by just a single second.

Thymen ARENSMAN forced his way on to the hotseat whilst most of the favourites were coming through. His time of 14'33" good enough to place him on the final podium.

He was pipped by pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2024/Micros/zoi.png

Richard Antonio CARAPAZ. Decked out in his national champion jersey, the Ecuadorian seems to have lost whatever bugbears were haunting his early season appearances, slotting in with a 14'32".

Matteo JORGENSON insisted on setting himself up to dominate the GC as well. His time of 14'22" gives him clear air to work with, but I don't know if his teammates will thank him for handing control of the race over to them so early on.
