As expected we didn't really feature in the important part of the race. But we did get some TV time with Redy in the breakaway. Hoelgaard managed to score a few points for us while the others got some experience.

Not last year's great start of the season for you, but I guess with how T-A and P-N are unfolding, you could quickly turn things around
Copenhagen was solid, with Howson gone probably being the difference to the Top 5.
Hoelgaard in Grand-Duché OK, guess he might have taken a Top 20 if working for a top favourite, but as a leader he might just have been a little bit too far down the pecking order.

P-N hasn't really started to unfold yet, but hopefully you haven't jinxed us either way

Our best bet to get a good result is to attack on stage 2 and make the race as difficult as possible. We don't stand much of a chance in a simple battle against the clock. Tao and Tadej can hopefully work together for one at least one of them to come away with a good result.

Katrasnik in one of his numerous attacks on his way to the KOM victory
Gorazd Stangelj:
We definitely saw some improvement in this race, but we still feel we have more to show. Tao had a solid performance, but that one time loss ended up costing him a podium and a better performance in the time-trial would have seen him finish 4th overall. Dusan had his first good sprint of the season, but was off the pace in the two other stages. Saving the race for us was Gasper Katrasnik with his aggressive riding in the breakaway as he wore the KOM jersey for nearly the entire race. There are still things we have to improve on, most notably our depth scoring.

Well, the puncheurs were just too strong in T-A - which I personally think is positive, given the low amount of gaps we've seen lately. Obviously not great for Tao, but I think 6th is still a decent outcome. And when you get the KoM jersey on top, I think 8/10 is an appropriate rating indeed
Now a bit worried to face both Tao and Tadej in Ukraine, hopefully we can just hang on somehow with some riders

Tadej Pogacar taking the race lead with a win on the steep finish on stage 6
Back-to-back stage wins secured the team's first ever Pro Tour overall victory
Gorazd Penko:
Apart from most other stage races this season we had a singular goal here. To win the overall with Tadej Pogacar and we accomplished that with aplomb! The prologue and flat stages were all about not losing any unnecessary time. We thought the hilly stage might have some GC implications. That wasn't to be, but we were deeply disappointed that Habtemichael lost time on the stage.
It was different in the mountains though. Tadej simply put the pedal to the metal on the final climbs of both mountain stages. A hard tempo that no one could follow on stage 6 and multiple attacks on stage 7 led to two convincing stage victories. The final day team time-trial ended up being a procession.
Completing a mandatory sponsor goal for the first time in addition to winning our first PT race and Tadej's offseason training paying off here. We couldn't ask for much more, could we?

Magnificent win by Pogacar, absolutely leaving the competition without any chance, some great dominance that makes me look forward to what he will do against the top competitors in the other races, mainly the TdF. And great to see that you accomplished your first win goal!

Echoing Nemo, Pogacar didn't give the others a sniff there. Great to see the training pay off and a home grown (in every sense of the word) talent reach the top where he belongs. Let's see how the Nederlands treats the team...

Tadej Pogacar collects Cedevita's 2nd polkadot jersey of the season
Marko Polanc:
We've been to this race quite a few times, but the new stage 2 definitely changed the race for us. Tadej and Tao were able to ride in an aggressive manner. Both finished well and secured overall top 10 results. All the other riders failed to make an impact so it's something we'll need to take a look at if we decide to come back here next year.

We weren't able to attack the race or be part of those attacks. Ivan did a good job following the wheels from the Cipressa onwards and was able to have a good sprint finish. Everyone else apart from Selimovic who was in the early day breakaway were off the pace by a lot. In other classics we want to have more numbers at the end of the race.

February is always a crucial month of the season due to the composition of our team and the races on the calendar. We started off well with a solid outing at the ProTour's premium TTT race, Copenhagen-Malmo. The following triple clash is even more important. For us, we focused on the two stage races. Tirreno-Adriatico and Paris-Nice. Both races ended up being successful. Tao Geoghegan Hart finished 6th overall in Tirreno, but we needed the unlikely KOM classification from Gasper Katrasnik to really make it. Paris-Nice was more straightforward as we were all in for Tadej Pogacar and he delivered as best as he could. Two stage wins to secure the overall classification while also completing our sponsor goal.
Grand-Duche was a development race for us. The Tour of Ukraine was another solid showing and we were also reasonably happy with Ivan Siric finishing 13th in Sanremo. Hopefully that indicates good form for the upcoming classics. All in all this month put us in the right direction with regards to where we want to be this season. Although we really cannot afford many bad results.

This is another race where we need to ride aggressively, enter breakways and compete for anything on offer. There is nothing for us to lose here, only things to gain. On the off chance perhaps Buitrago rides for GC, but more likely we are looking at breakaways, the last two stages in particular.
