43 seconds is something I can work with. I think that’s an excellent result for us and keen to see Davila and Rodriguez moving forward. Good stage for us considering how “weak” we are in that division.
Great report and congrats to the winner

I think that was perhaps a slightly below par performance but well within the range of what's acceptable. Limited our losses enough to be able to race on our own terms in the mountains. Hoping Penasa goes well tomorrow, very excited to see what he can do on a stage that should suit him very well.

Great work from the lads! Awesome to see former Newton Foundation rider, and CT draft selection, Jorge Abreu lead the team over the line. Getting Jorgenson in yellow before the climbs is huge. Was hoping the time gaps would be a little bigger with it being a 40km TTT, but it is what it is.
Fun fact: This is only my second-ever TTT win in my 13th season in the MG. The other came with Desigual at the 2019 Monterrey TTT.
I believe we have enough firepower in Madrazo, Quinn, and Abreu to keep Jorgenson safe and bring home our first GC victory of the season.

We’ll take that, all day, every day. Thanks for the report JT, congrats Mre, that’s the win secured for Jorgensen
Smith looking decent value for a top 5, hopefully…

Was hoping for a little better than 10th and 40 seconds. Shows that just having a solid squad isn't enough you need some big engines in the front which we lacked.
Will have to tell our guys that wearing the invisibility cloaks keeps us out of the coverage but doesn't seem to improve our aero.

What a stage. Carapaz on the BOTD was certainly unexpected. Glad to see Fortunato gibe it a go, but having the best climbers involved so early didnt really help. Great performance from him anyway. There are still 2 chances for us to try the break, but I guess this was our best shot. Great reports JT thanks!

Agree. Good to see Smit join, but knew his efforts were futile with Carapaz in there as well.
Not a good race for us so far...

Carapaz tried to challenge our team strength and we barely kept things from blowing up.
Also: "Jorgenson finally goes and he is ripping the favourites group apart he has channeled his inner Armstrong today and bluffed to the others to do his chasing but he is now motoring up the climb" is top notch reporting. Awesome stuff.
Stage win would have been nice but we did enough to help Jorgenson get closer to the overall victory. Hopefully, nothing weird happens on the hilly stage tomorrow.

Sorry these are late glad you've all enjoyed the carnage that happened hope I managed to bring you into the action as much as was going on
PCM continues to throw stage favs in break if there down on GC, strange time for Carapaz to attack once the break had already formed but it did work. If he didn't start working to bring back Munoz think he could have stayed in the group as well or at least not just died completely.
Again we see the first attack win on a mountain stage after Tachira weird that the game just can't bring these attacks back at all
Munoz pretty much gained time the whole way up until Jorgenson took over
Jorgenson showing that sometimes PCM does work well knowing it was too far to take over 5km to go and waiting was clever
Vanhoucke on the other hand didn't make sense to me get that he was 2nd on GC but he's not a stage fav or GC one and the less said about Carapaz pacing the better
Dion Smith once again looks amazing going to be one of the bargains of the window equally good in the mountains as the hills a great buy.
Good to see not many disappointments on the stage everyone kind of finished where you would expect |

Thanks for the great report. Just wish we actually had a part to play, Congrats to Newton getting the job done in the end. Really nice ride by Jorgenson and brave attack from Munoz.
To send the team we did to this race and potentially come away with zero points is a testament to how strong the GC peloton is in CT this year. Revard has had top 10-15 finishes in CT stage races in the past and neither he nor Warbasse even made the top 50.
Absolutely no excuse for us not to be in the break in the last two stages.

Thanks for the awesome reports and post-stage write-ups. I have to say Smith has been a revelation, and tomorrow is his chance to pull back any time he can before the final mountain finish, where Jorgenson will inevitably wear the GC guys down.
Zalgiris gave us a genuine bargain stud for the GCs this year.

Thank you for the great report JT. Sadly the content wasnt to our liking. The season start is definitely not good at all for us and Carapaz. Again losing almost 5 minutes orz ... maybe someday I can see Carapaz with a at least normal daily form. We cant change t now, so lets hope on the last days we can set some small highlights at least. |

Blown out of the water GC wise here. Mannion needs to go full attack to get the KOM

Very composed ride from Penasa, exactly what we were hoping for. The GC win is obviously gone, but the other podium spots are definitely in play, given how close together everyone is.

Carapaz is a madman. Glad we kept everything together and didn't let anything crazy happen before the final stage. Jorgenson looks poised to defend the overall lead. Also cool to see Sean Quinn move up to 2nd in the youth standings behind Jorgenson.
Bring it home boys!

Time lost for Rodriguez but Davila staying with it all. Still in contention for a high GC place which I am excited about considering our weakness in the TTT discipline.
Sad we couldn’t do more with Yates but still a good safe stage for most of the team.
Congrats to the winner and great report

Bit of a ‘meh’ stage for us, but Smith picking up some more minor points is always appreciated.
Time to lock in for the final stage. Congrats Ivan and thanks for the report JT!

Really glad to see my guys on the break but it just never seems to pay off unfortunately. Having Carapaz storm the BOTDs day in and day out doesn't seem to be helping either. One last day for us to try and score something here in Catalunya, but it's unlikely that that can happen. Congrats on the victory, Ivan!
