Pretty dramatic ruling for us, but I think it highlights the vulnerability of our squad build-up. Thanks for analysing and publishing the data. Hopefully it doesn't work like this

Don't know how we suddenly skyrocketed, but it might be the overrated Fabian.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

yikes. I think this reflects our unbalanced team structure. Hopefully it doesn't end up this badly.

I would sign immediately for 13th to be honest. But anyhow, it shows we have a shot at staying up.
Thanks Abhi for the preview!

6th seems high, but without any dreadful luck it is possible. Thanx

I think we'll need to be sponsored by No Man's Sky if this prediction is correct as it would be the 3rd in a row

Interresting to see that we have among the best depth in the division, but our leaders are definately weaker than most of ourcompetitors. I would take 9th place anyday of the week, but if we manage a mid-table ranking, I'm pretty sure we'll be much closer to relegation than promotion in the end |

I love these statistics! Not because we lead the rankings, but because it’s just how I’m wired :-)
I see no chance for us to win the division, so stats are obviously flawed when looking at figured like that, but it’s really fun to do, and something that I also tend to build around.
Will be interesting to see if we are actually “up there”. I could see us ending up around 10th. Atleast I see that as more likely than 1st :-)

I guess this preview might see my team at the top of the consolidated leader ranking with how Lopez and especially Lecuisinier seem to push me towards the top in more categories than they realistically can ever ride. It's just the nature of this sort of preview approach as seen with jph's preview too. Sprinters i'm expectedly low, while especially Fabian and TT I'm a bit higher than i would have imagined.

The depth analysis and the final rankings for PT is now posted. Apologies for the delay but my laptop was not working for the last 2 weeks.
Some thoughts on the ranking formulae, stage racers had the highest priority with TT, cobbles and climbers next. Punchers and flat sprinters followed, with punchy sprinters, fighters and Fabian having lowest priority.
If you see the rankings, you will notice that certain similar teams like Aker, Everesting and Spark are not liked by the formulas. This is a factor of the formulas favouring teams having strong leaders and decent depth in the areas with higher weightage. This is off course the opposite for teams with the opposite ethos in team building who are ranked higher in the rankings.

Stage Racing team #1. What a development from a couple years ago
Feels like there are a few areas where we are ranked surprisingly high - particularly Fabian & TT depth. Generally not particularly surprised we are ranked very highly in such an approach as riders like Lecuisinier (Or Foss/Plapp) or Lopez will automatically push me up a fair bit in more categories than comparable other riders. I'm a bit sceptical of valuing all of stage race, climber and TT more than puncheurs and the sprint categories since those leaders are already more likely to only contribute in one category (two for certain sprinters). But the overall ranking looks reasonable so i guess you found a good balance anyway.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

The analysis confirms my feeling that our leaders alone are hardly PT material. 13th in depth is fine, though, and I'll definitely have to hope for more races like Tasmania and less like Qatar in this regard.
Another prediction having us just staying up, I'd definitely take that.
Thanks for doing this, Abhi!
