[PTHC] Great Ocean Road Classic
Welcome to Australia! Like last year the Great Ocean Road Classic (GORC) again is categorized as PTHC race. Except for 2021 the Race has been part of the MGUCI calendar since 2013
We have a pretty short race with just 130km to go here. The profile itself isn't too hard but the slightly hilly sections in the middle give a chance for some groups to try there luck. The past has shown that the probability for a sprint at the end is higher than a group or single escapist reaching the goal first.
Previous winners:

Sprinters
The race seems to most likely end in a mass sprint so here are the favorites for this.
Name | FL | ST | RS | SP | AC | FG | Gaviria | 76 | 74 | 76 | 83 | 84 | 68 | Van der Lijke | 73 | 73 | 71 | 82 | 79 | 66 | Ahlstrand | 73 | 73 | 72 | 82 | 81 | 58 | Dainese | 76 | 75 | 76 | 81 | 82 | 64 | Halvorsen | 76 | 74 | 71 | 81 | 80 | 70 | Kanter | 75 | 75 | 73 | 81 | 80 | 65 | Philipsen | 74 | 74 | 70 | 81 | 80 | 63 | Abdul Halil | 70 | 71 | 68 | 81 | 79 | 60 | Bonifazio | 79 | 68 | 75 | 80 | 80 | 58 | Cullaigh | 74 | 73 | 70 | 80 | 81 | 66 | Jakobsen | 74 | 75 | 73 | 80 | 80 | 67 | Bol | 76 | 75 | 77 | 79 | 77 | 68 | Ovsyannikov | 74 | 75 | 72 | 79 | 78 | 71 | Afewerki | 73 | 77 | 70 | 79 | 80 | 68 |
The field is packed with top sprinters. Gaviria, Van der Lijke, Ahlstrand, Dainese and so on. None of them would be a surprise. But right behind them a lot more are waiting for there chance. Bonifazio with his great Roleur skills could maybe surpirse them. Also guys like Bol and Afewerki, who may not have the highest sprint speed can land a good position with a great tactic. A Mass Sprint will be thrilling to watch for sure!
Roleurs
The past showed us there is a chance for the strongest Roleurs to finish first.
Name | FL | ST | RS | SP | AC | FG | Konychev | 82 | 77 | 78 | 76 | 75 | 76 | Veyhe | 80 | 66 | 71 | 56 | 78 | 80 | Antonijevic | 78 | 67 | 74 | 71 | 74 | 80 | Nych | 78 | 75 | 72 | 65 | 76 | 84 | Van der Haar | 77 | 70 | 72 | 72 | 70 | 76 | Wohler | 77 | 72 | 71 | 71 | 72 | 80 | De Bondt | 76 | 72 | 69 | 74 | 76 | 76 | Cosnefroy | 76 | 78 | 81 | 69 | 69 | 81 | Verwilst | 76 | 70 | 72 | 65 | 66 | 75 | Naud | 76 | 72 | 73 | 64 | 67 | 78 |
Here we have the winner from last year, Wohler. Can he surprise the sprint elite again and snatch vicotry? Or maybe a sprinty roleur like Konychev? Veyhe, Cosnefroy and Nych on the other side could just do it with sheer willpower. A lot of possibilities and even more riders who arent listed here could be the ones that climb the top of the Podium!

Glanbia's first PTHC race (and it shows!)
All eyes on Kennett, with good positioning he can do a top 10
Thanks for the preview Ezee and good luck all

Looking forward to this race. Gaviria the clear favourite, but Dainese is among the riders that could challenge him. Very even field, so good positioning will be key. Would also love to see Konychev try something in the final kilometers.
Thanks for the preview!

We're here, and I guess that's it.
Thanks for the preview.

I’m hoping for Perera to do well here! We will see. Very very strong field! A top 10 would be nice!

A great opportunity to get a big result here!
Jakobsen has already won a stage this year and so he may just over perform again to make the Top 5.
Cosnefroy also an interesting option which could be aided by his resistance.
Thank you for the preview and good luck all

Second first impression for Ahlstrand, hopefully it'll be better than the first.

I hesitated to send Bol here, because he should have no chance - but given that I ended up without a strong rouleur, I still needed to have a sprinter. If the bumps can tire some of the other sprinters enough, he might have a shot at a Top 10 - but I wouldn't be surprised if we got absolutely nothing from this race.
Good luck to all, and thanks for the preview!

Hoping to see more of Tasmania Kanter here than of Qatar Kanter!
From my experience playing this race many, many times, it can be surprisingly tough to reel in a decently sized group over the undulating and winding terrain in the middle third of the race, so with us not being expected to feature in the break, I hope we'll get a bunch sprint indeed.

Forgot we were here and was just looking out of curiosity. So not optimistic, but Naud isn't that far off Wohler, who won last year, so hopefully he has a go.

Our first race of the season, and last race until the end of Feb! Last few editions have resulted in roulers doing their thing, and with how 22 and performed so far I expect the same again. Hopefully Abdul Halil in his debut as a maxed rider can surf the trains and find the right wheel.
Thanks for the preview

Really cool finale I think, with rouleurs attacking, a top team controlling the race and setting their sprinter up nicely, who delivers except for a surprise attack by another top sprinter, who goes early and actually gets rewarded for it. Maybe it's selective perception but sprints feel pretty nice so far in PCM22.
Strong result for Afewerki, which is nice to see, and really solid 10th place for former Bralirwa sprinter Perera, some important points for Spark there.

Nothing for us here. Seeing Siric being ignored by the AI means it's gonna be a long season in these races.

Good thing Afewerki is performing as I had hoped. First podium for us this season in a great result by the African! Congrats to the winner and thanks for the report!
