Headquarters
Welcome to the headquarters of Simba Cement – Tanga Fresh. Both companies are based in Africa, but the sponsors have assured us that African riders aren’t required; however, they are of course sought after. To be frank, there are already rumors of other sponsors, but as nothing is confirmed yet, we must wait and see what is confirmed during the season.
Hopefully, we can tell you some more regarding our long term goals later this year, but for now we are just trying to establish ourself on the professional cycling scene.

Goals 2023
Tour of the Middle East | Win | | Tour of America | Stage win | | Stage wins in the season | 8 | CT Individual Standings | Top-10 | CT Team Standings | Top-10 |
As a newly established team, it was very difficult to agree on the season objectives with our sponsors. However, we agreed on only setting two race-specific goals, as the roster wasn't decided yet. These goals are for winning Tour of the Middle East and getting a stage win in Tour of America.
In Tour of the Middle East we have brought all our guys who can ride well in the mountains, as we have identified the fourth and last stage as key. Winning still seems unlikely, but at least we will give it our best shot. We also bring Cisse to chase a stage win in the first two flat stages.
In Tour of America we're bringing a full sprint train. The five other guys will all chase breakaways. We might regret not bringing Manfredi, but only time will tell if that was a mistake.
We will of course try to complete as many of our goals as possible, but I believe that the sponsors will be satisfied if we can complete two out of five.

Happy to see my ex rider Manfredi turning up here. Should be a good addition for CT, even in PCT he got a couple of stage wins from the break.
Good coverage in the hills and sprinting department. Unfortunately, this division has lot of the teams that are geared up like you
Should be an interesting opening season for you. All the best!

Another Member for our "Cobbles are Lame"-Club , but with the lack of good cobblers in CT this year this slowly also means a lot of mediocre ones might score a bit.
Like mentioned above a lot of depth in Mountains, Hills and Sprinting. Lets see how it works out for you.

Well, I'd say you definitely built your team for the here and now, and not for the future, with the only U28 riders being stagiaires
Cool to see my two former African sprinters Cissé and Habtom finding an African team now Sprinting seems to be your main theme anyway, and I can only hope for you that these old men have something left in the tank to get you some wins
Personally, I don't like one-dimensional riders that much, which is one reason why I eventually parted ways with Manfredi (who's also one of my former riders), and you've got plenty of puncheurs who basically can't do anything else but hills. They'll surely have their bright moments, though, and especially Felline with his decent sprint should do well if he gets the right races
My favorite rider on your team is Jaramillo, though - despite his weak energy stats, I'd expect him to score pretty well!

No offence meant by this, but it's a very 1st year MG team. However, I like the range of regional riders and overall squad philosophy. You'll have plenty of breaks to watch and hopefully some good results. But I don't see promotion being realistic.
Enjoy the season!

@Laurens147
I'm looking forward to seeing Manfredi in action for us. I'm sure he will have a fun season.
@Ezeefreak
Yeah, we were interested in a few cobble-riders, but it didn't work out. Guess that makes us a happy member of the club
@Fabianski
Inspired by the retirement home IRL of Israel-Premier Tech?
Personally, I don't mind the one-dimensional riders in CT, but I will agree that I probably have one or two too many puncheurs.
@TheManxMissile
No offence taken - it is indeed a year for learning.
I don't expect promotion either, but hopefully top-10 is possible. |

Metric ton of old farts, which in a way I think may help you next year cause you will know how to build (and rebuild in your case) the team and how everything works a lot more. Don't think you'll be able to do much this year, but in this year's CT it's hard to do anything for any of the new teams, so no big deal

I kinda agree with TMM and quadsas. There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason of how the riders fit together and they're mostly very old. Hopefully they give you some fun moments, because you'll likely be rebuilding most of the squad next year.

@quadsas
Yeah, there will probably still be alot to learn next year, but I will have a better idea of what I'm going for.
@redordead
I think my riders fits my calender okay, but most of them are indeed very old. I'm already looking forward to rebuilding honestly. |

As mentioned by the others we probably won't see many of those riders still in your colours next season. You've got plenty of riders who could score results / points, but from my own experience last season with a similar squad (not just because of Gogl ) the emphasis here is on 'could'. You probably shouldn't expect many actual big results or wins as I don't see a rider who's a guarantee for those. But - again from experience - that makes those rare successes the merrier

@Kandesbunzler26
I agree once again In the beginning I didn't want to sign any riders with more than 100k wage, but obviously I didn't uphold that restriction. And I'm probably going to look for more top tier riders next season without any self-imposed wage restrictions.

Planning is difficult, but luckily it felt a bit easier than picking sponsor goals and building the team. Everyone on the team, except for Moreno Moser (and our two stagiares of course), gets to ride this month. Let's hope this will net us some points, or maybe even our first stage win?

Miss me with that Clasico San Jose squad. That's too many good folks!
Interesting strategy with the goals and only 2 race specific goals. Not sure Top 10 in individual standings will happen, but actually like your stage win and team goals as smart choices. I think your 2/5 goal for goals is actually realistic.

@seancoll
We are bringing a lot of hill specialists to Clasico San Jose, but not any exceptional leader, so I'm really curious on how the team will perform.
I guess we are kind of fighting to achieve 2/3 goals, as both winning Tour of the Middle East and having a rider in the top-10 of the individual standings will be very difficult for us.
