Anyone else struggling to post deals? Tried it multiple times in the past 10 minutes and the new thread just doesn't appear (in two different browsers)
The latest deal, that is shown to me is '[Loan Deal] Alain Quispe' from one hour ago. Guess that can't be right.. Any idea? Free Agent bid seemed to work though..

I see the same thread too, probably database issues

If you go to "Discussion Forum" and scroll down to "MG Deals" thread, it shows a thread posted later than Quispe though..
Well, at least I'm not the only one to struggle

Yeh I have tried 3 different deals and three different times and its not working.
Is the site down or something? But only 1 aspect of the site?

I fear... that the maximum number of threads in this forum software may have been reached. The maximum thread ID I see is 65535 - which is the maximum value of an unsigned short integer. If that is what the DB uses, I guess we're a little bit screwed... I hope it's just a coincidence...

Hmm.. in this case, deleting old threads would do the trick though, wouldn't it? Should be plenty of useless threads by now

Well, I guess it would be "too easy" of a solution..
Anyway.. it's annoying as it is!

Don't know if that would be enough tbh. If the DB just assigns thread IDs in ascending order, that'd still be a problem. If it uses gaps between IDs (filling up deleted thread IDs), it might work.
But yeah, the techies surely are on it, and I have full trust in them

What if we went in and deleted some threads we have that we don't need? Would that be a test solution to see if it works?

Just catching up on this now - I am pretty sure this is the case, that it assigns in ascending order, not filling gaps.
It should be possible to change existing thread IDs, maybe that helps as a short term fix, will need to experiment.

Thanks, SN!
Just posted a deal in the "hijacked" thread and hopefully did it as expected?!

Is this also going to mean we can't currently open threads on new free agents if we get overbid on our current ones?

I don't think changing the threads IDs will work since I asume the post in the thread are linked to the thread using that ID so you'd also need to make sure you change the thread id in the table with the posts too. I'm just speculating right now though, I have no idea what the structure of the database is.
The first thing that you should probably look into though is if the sequence that generates the thread ids can be modified to support bigger values.
I assume for the posts there's a similar sequence and the we definitely have a lot more posts than threads so the databas should allow for bigger sequence numbers.

Better workaround now up and running, claim a thread from Thread Supply, fill in the details, and move it into the right place - whether a Deal or Free Agent:
