2023 offseason - availability edition
The 2023 transfer season is right around the corner and here is our availability list:
Last name | First name | Key stat | Wage | Avail. | Kolev | Yoan | 70 TT | 50k € | Loan | Kozhatayev | Bakhtiyar | 77 MO | 150k € | Maybe | Ahmad Zamri | Muhamma Afif | 75 MO | 60k € | Maybe | De Luna | Flavio | 74 TT | 55k € | Yes | Paprstka | Tomas | 75 CB | 70k € | Maybe | Robov | Momchil | 76 HI | 75k € | Yes | Stoenchev | Valentin | 76 TT | 60k € | Maybe | Kiskonen | Siim | 77 SP | 80k € | Yes |
The one notable exception in which we will not part ways with under any circumstances is Kolev, who we'll be looking for a loan deal if needed. Kozhatayev is in the Maybe category as he could be a solid role player in PCT, but if a CT team is interested in him and the price is right, we could part ways.
Ahmad Zamri, Paprstka and Stoenchev are also in the Maybe category as they could come in handy for some C2 races down the road as PCT teams need 10 RD spent on C2 races and their OVL and skillset fit. But if there's a compelling offer for any of the two and/or we find replacements, we could consider moving them.

Kozhatayev and Ahmad Zamri are pretty interesting. Let's see if we can make something happen

Hoping for potential buyers to not actually check the DB before getting them?
Otherwise, I guess I might be interested by some young sprinter, depending on how FA evolves... Those mentioned by SotD are obviously nice "assets" as well, but can't really fill the entire roster with (older) stage racers, either

We proudly welcome our new arrivals to the team:
Samuel Pokälä | Age: 33 | Lvl: 4.100 | Wage: 50k To be added later
Matala Sebokai | Age: 30 | Lvl: 4.100 | Wage: 50k To be added later
Unfortunately I don't have time to add the stats for both riders in the cards, but in short Pokälä is 76 TT veteran, while Seboka has 80 MO stat. Also, these are the first riders on the team from Finland and Lesotho respectively

Seboka, a Pollos legend. Have fun with him. Maybe he can go for another polka-dot jersey at Andorra

Louis Visser | Age: 25 | Lvl: 4.62 | Wage: 50k FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | 72 | 64 | 72 | 68 | 74 | 73 | 69 | 65 | 73 | 74 | 76 | 68 | 67 |
Some sort of homecoming for this young talent from South Africa, who had raced with us in 2021 as a 1->3 Loan In. It's a shame that Zwift had given up on him as he'd have been really useful down the line. Visser is our first rider from South Africa that we've contracted (i.e. not on loan deal)

Pierre Paolo Penasa | Age: 32 | Lvl: 4.100 | Wage: 230k FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | 70 | 80 | 74 | 70 | 75 | 72 | 77 | 50 | 57 | 76 | 68 | 64 | 70 |
William Barta | Age: 27 | Lvl: 4.100 | Wage: 70k FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | 69 | 76 | 72 | 73 | 71 | 74 | 70 | 54 | 72 | 67 | 65 | 56 | 75 |
Joonas Henttala | Age: 32 | Lvl: 4.100 | Wage: 70k FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | 66 | 74 | 68 | 73 | 73 | 72 | 72 | 50 | 60 | 67 | 63 | 71 | 73 |
In a deal that saw MO/TT combo rider Muhamma Afif Ahmad Zamri to Sony - Force India, we've collected 3 riders in return (shocker). First is Penasa, who is (unless something really weird happens) the designated GC leader, another homecoming - this time from Will Barta, and Henttala, who might feel his TT NC jersey under serious threat by his new teammate Pokälä.

Nice pickups in getting our former riders Yechezkel and Visser! And we didn't want to give up on Visser, we just got offered a good chunk of cash to let him leave last year Glad to see he is getting regular full-time contracts now after developing him.

Marcel Kittel | Age: 35 | Lvl: 4.100 | Wage: 50k FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | 71 | 51 | 60 | 77 | 68 | 64 | 59 | 53 | 56 | 67 | 68 | 60 | 77 |
Some may say "Why you give 50k for 35 year old Kittel?" - I've taken him to be a TTT piece. And for 50k it's a low risk, high chance of reward situation

Two Rwandans, I like that Nsengimana will help Uhiriwe feel right at home, too. Love the signing of Visser, he's a great rider.

Thanks for taking care of Jarc and Bechkov

Hakon Frengstad Berger | Age: 31 | Lvl: 4.100 | Wage: 50k FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 73 | 60 | 65 | 61 | 72 | 68 | 75 | 62 | 77 | 77 | 63 | 65 | 67 |
Romain Sicard | Age: 34 | Lvl: 4.100 | Wage: 220k FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 69 | 78 | 74 | 72 | 74 | 73 | 76 | 53 | 60 | 64 | 73 | 61 | 72 |
Hakon Frengstad Berger may seem an insignificat investment, but for 50k it's worth the risk even though his sprint chances would not be very high. However, the main attraction here is Sicard. Yes, he is 34 y.o.. Yes, some may consider it an overpay. But we've managed to get him for fairly decent for his skillset wage. And besides, we can't solely rely on Penasa in Stage Races - we need a backup plan after all

Penasa is always great and does better than his stats but I fear it might be a hard slog of a year in PCT! Hopefully our four former riders can contribute well for you.

Well, it will not be an easy journey, but with Penasa and Sicard I have two GC worthy contenders. Sure, I'm lacking in some departments, but few decent GC results will be good. Despite his decline, IMO Sicard can still contribute this season alongside Penasa
