Excited to join you guys! Have been playing since CM4 and excited to make my first CM team, my first MG team; Saeco!
I have no knowledge about photoshop and graphics, neither do I know the correct way to upload my jerseys. The link in OP's post doesn't work for me. I think this jersey looks cool: https://pcmmod.co...p?id=22336
I would upload it, but I'm not sure where and how. |

I'm just gonna quote myself from last year, again

A warm welcome to everyone joining MG
I hope you all enjoy your time in the game. I guess one piece of advice to everyone is that MG is a long season, full of ups and downs. I'm sure your excitement now is pretty high and will probably get even higher during transfers. But it's a long season and there is no need to burn yourself out too early.
Good luck!
I'm also available for questions if anyone needs help

Quick question concerning sponsors. Do they have any different effect? Is there a list or can we just use any company in the world to be our sponsor? |

You can use whatever company you want. I guess it has happened exactly once that a sponsor later on asked a manager to be retired from the game
It doesn't even have to be a company -> e.g. Minions
(btw, I asked the same question before my first year as well )

And they are just cosmetics I suppose? |

They can be part of the role playing aspect of the game, too. Many managers try to sign riders from the regions of their sponsor(s), get talents from those regions and develop them etc. This can add to your experience, but it's by no means necessary. If you simply think a sponsor logo or color scheme looks cool but you want to sign riders from all over the world, that's entirely fine as well.

More or less. Usually they'll have their logo on your jersey, so they'll be visible all season long. Which is obviously just a graphical or cosmetic issue.
But the main nation of your team - which often matches your main sponsor's nationality - has an impact on talent addition in following seasons. So it's not purely cosmetics.

Ok I see. But how is the nationality talents logic? Are certain nationalities better for teams than others? Or do they only effect nationality but not ratings?
Because in PCM the scouting system has some countries valued higher than others, I don't want to get bad talents just because I picked a "non cycling famous country" as base for the team. |

Rider addition is purely manual in MG. Everyone can post new rider suggestions, then it's a team that does the actual additions. Usually, great RL talents will also get decent stats in ManGame, but the longer you're in the game (with the same focus nations), the higher the chance that you'll get a great talent from that country. That's why you find many fantastic MG riders who aren't great at all in real life. So if you go with Austria for some years, I'm sure there will be some good Austrian talents added even if there shouldn't be any in real life.
If the selection of the country had a negative impact on talent addition, I'm pretty sure there wouldn't be a Caribbean team, or a Japanese one, or whatever "non cycling famous country" you like

There is no scouting system.
New riders are added each season mostly based on IRL and to provide a balanced database of riders for the good of the game. If you pick to have a sponsor and role play as a "non cycling famous country" then don't expert superstar additions, but you can get above average riders every once in a while or simply more solid riders from an otherwise small nation.

To explain this sentence further:
All talents are visible for every manager. They are listed as part of the huge (Excel) DB that is released before transfers start (you see a provisional version in the renewals thread). Then it is up to you to "scout the DB": Filter the DB to find riders that are interesting for you, calculate how riders will develop (there is a stat gains thread so you know their fully developed stats already depending ob which "training path" you pick). And come transfers, everyone has the same chance to sign a rider. A latvian team and a japanese team have the same chances to sign a japanese talent - whoever does the highest bid, gets him.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Few questions:
When you get a rider, for how long will he stay? Do you need to renew contracts every year?
When you train a rider and he gets 100 xp, does he immediately gain traits or only during offseason?
I think I understand training riders with xp, but I also read that I can do this with money, I can't find a thread explaining this, can someone link an explanation on ''buying'' training?
How many racedays can a rider have in a season? |
