Probably because that's the truth, which doesn't mean I don't appreciate it every time you do .
I honestly don't know what's next for this story. Plenty of interesting youngsters that I'd love to see develop into team leaders or valuable domestiques, but I only have limited time to play. Moving through this career so moderately might force me to come up with a different way of reporting. Still thinking about that though.
Let go of Ochoa, Cortes, Zardini and Colla, which leaves Zurlo as the sole Italian on our team roster. Cortes signing with Bahrain was a major blow to our cobbled classics squad until David Helling joined from EF. Tinajero is back after a couple years with Movistar, which should give us more options for the sprints.
An DATion-packed week of World Tour racing featured a Willunga Hill stage on the second day this time. Dayer Quintana came tenth with 2021 overall winner Galtier claiming the ochre leader's jersey again.
Adam Yates became the next to wear it when Valerien Galtier crashed out of GC contention. More race incidents made Dayer move up to 8th before the queen stage as he missed a stage win by a few hundred meters too.
Dayer only had Geraint Thomas and GC leader (and winner) Yates finish ahead of him on Mount Lofty, moved up to GC 5th only to drop two spots in the crosswinds of the final stage. That's also where Vilda lost the white jersey by 1". Still our first ever GC top 10 Down Under after Barbero came 11th in 2019.
