 Rheden GP - Preview
Welcome to the small town of Rheden in eastern Netherlands. A town with plenty of history but our focus today is on the cycling in which this small town becomes the focus of much of the world's attention for the annual cobbled classic.
At 185.1km, it's not nearly as brutal as its American counterpart, Tour of the Battenkill. However, it's non-stop bumps will not make it particularly easy for the riders to settle and so we anticipate an action-packed race.
It's been a mixed bag here in recent years. Last year and 2019 saw the race decided from reduced bunch sprints while 2020 saw a 2 riders from a breakaway hold out against the charging peloton.

A somewhat weaker field here than in America which may make life more difficult for the top teams who will, no doubt, be asked, or rather forced, to control the race.
If there's 1 man who you won't want to take your eye off then it's  Danny Summerhill. Whether it's a sprint or an attack from the distance, he's got the tools to win it.
The Los Pollos boys will be hoping for their man  Ruben Zepuntke to perform here. A fan favourite who hasn't always delivered but he's got a great opportunity to do so.
 Kasperkiewicz and  Van Hooydonck are also a strong duo but they'll need to try their luck early on as they wouldn't back themselves in a sprint.
Another crowd favourite, even in Europe, is  Debesay. He's always got a surprise result stored and maybe this is his time to shine!
Last year's winner,  Karatzios is also back for more and will be hoping he can repeat his heroics although it'll be a tough ask.

This race can be fairly random at times. So a weaker startlist is far from a guarantee that usual third row riders like Neilands actually get a surprisingly strong result here.

Good preview of how PCT racing could be like for Zepuntke next season. Hopefully he is able to get a top-5. As long as he doesnt get a too good result so he doesn't ask for too much in renewals  Thanks for the preview!

Huge huge ride by Neilands. We didnt really need it but i wasnt expecting another latvian podium finish in a classic for us anytime soon. Feels great!
