Wow, great start, thanks for the report KB!
Waersted with an important win. Can promotion to PCT be possible after all?
Of course not, but I like the hope he's put back into us!
Hopefully we can win one more stage, maybe the hilly one, but I dont have high hopes for the GC. |

Not an ideal sprint for us, but congrats to Bjartne on a great win for Waerstad!

No, obviously thanks to you, Nemo
And commiserations to UU for another abysmal Keough stage. 4th sprinter I guess...
Yes, ugly. I guess it is 4th best, but must be on secondary stats because only Rajovic is better SP+AC. Disappointing as I was hoping we would actually form a train for the first time all season (which isn't always a good thing but fun to watch).
Ah well, perhaps he is saving energy to support Warbasse.

Not so bad result all things considered. Happy to see Podium Ambition get on that podium

Love to see Aregger take another win in one of his final races as a maxed rider! When he's sprinting, he's mostly doing well, with this being his 5th podium of the year - and finally it's the top spot Let's see if that's even enough to take the green jersey home - I guess Schlegel might have a decent chance to take it from him.
Also, taking the GC lead would obviously have been a nice bonus - but with PCM sometimes taking some really questionable choices with riders to protect, I'm actually happy Aregger is "only" 2nd. And I like to see a Podium Ambition rider in yellow, should be a nice motivation boost for TMM Kelly getting whiter and whiter to eventually end up in yellow was fun to follow
And this time I'll get it right with the first attempt: Thanks to Nemo for the report
Commiserations again to McCormick; at least Keough somehow tried it seems. Even worse for Staffbase, a shame Willwohl couldn't even get a Top 10 after all the work they did... Definitely hoping those issues will be addressed in the next PCM version!

A lot to like about Stage 2. Impressed with Major who genuinely, for the first time this whole season, looked genuinely able to contest a sprint. Kelly of course the star, the first time this year a T3A rider has lead a GC I believe. And at least we will surrender it before the final summit finish so we don't have to suffer the cameras focusing on him suffering.
This race is now a huge success!

At least Suryadi’s consistent, got to be happy with that. Congrats to Fab, good to see Aregger get up here and also to PA for the lead with Kelly.
Thanks for the report

Schultz and Schleck did so well!! Great start in the GC race!
We were never going to catch the winner so Schultz being in 2nd and getting a time gap is excellent!

Bad stage for us with Schlegel and Warbasse getting bonus seconds and the former even a gap. Mäder dropped here doesn't really make any sense, either, but alas. You can't win every stage. Congrats to Tryg, logical stage winner, as that finale was definitely a bit tough for the pure puncheurs.
I have to admit, however, that I didn't expect that final steep incline looking at the profile, they unfortunately often don't reflect the last km that well. Was secretely hoping for Aregger to hold on (and given Berlin in 4th place, that could've been possible on a good day).
Now hoping that Stüssi pulls off something special tomorrow. We got our stage win and a couple of points, but our leader living up to his stats and winning it all once again would be nice (and it'd only be for the second time this year).
Thanks for the report, Nemo. Or, given our results, I should rather put a random name there

Tomorrow's stage suits Potocki better than this one so not too worried for now!
Congrats to Lief on a great win for Schlegel and thanks for the report Nemo!

Remco is a fraud, Schlegel finally lives up to what I hoped he'd do all season, strong ride!

Awesome win for Schlegel and a great ride from Schultz.
It’s good that Arifin and Kolar managed to keep up, but worrying neither was very well placed most of the time. Hopefully one of them can have a good day tomorrow and we can get a decent result from this race.
Thanks for the report

Never been so dissapointed to have 5 riders in top 15
Heavy favourites and none of them manages to even get a top 5 placement, lol.
This was our best chance in this race, tomorrow will be a lot tougher.
At least we'll still in contention for team glory together with our friends in Le Creuset.
Thank you for the wonderful report, i loved the little sneak photo of the last hills in the distance. |

I think Warbasse's first climbing podium of the season (maybe he had one in California). Hopefully he is climbing that well tomorrow, when I think these gaps will be insignificant.
Deserved win from Schlegel. C1 and C2 have very few stage races without a TT or TTT this year which I think hurt him.
Thanks for the report.

Greatest Jordan Schleck ride of all time?
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Thanks Nemo.
This was always going to be a weak race for Glanbia. Glad Cheyne at least scored something

Don't really know what to think about this... I guess Stüssi did his job, and he did it well. Just really unlucky that Hoem had the day of his life. That guy is literally worse than Stüssi in every single stat but DH (which didn't matter at all here), so that's hard to understand (and to swallow). Even worse, I'd consider Mäder a better rider than Hoem - and he finished ridiculously far down. Alongside Dyrnes and behind Battistella... I guess PCM just considered him as a 2nd leader option, and therefore useless, instead of a domestique.
Well, although I'd have loved to win the race - and honestly should have I guess - I also like to see Tafjord being lucky for once - something that definitely hasn't been the case for most of the year. Congrats!
Good to see Schlegel on the podium for once as well. As UU mentioned, that's pretty much CT's only stage race without TT or TTT (which I obviously like given my roster ), so that's what he should get. Being beaten by Stüssi probably is fair (not talking about Hoem obviously).
On the other hand, Warbasse probably had his biggest stinker of the year here, really unlucky. Commiserations to UU, a really underwhelming race by both Keough and Larry, except for stage 3.
In general, it was a very weak field, if Berlin can almost get a Top 10... In that context, Mäder's underperformance hurts even more. Alas, we got some good points, but if I learnt something from this season, then it's the fact that sending more than one 75+ climber is a complete waste.
Thanks for the reports, Nemo! Just assign that insane Hoem-Bonus to one of my riders next time, please
