The TTT was a bit better than I was expecting. And we still have our chances in Top 10. Chapeau to Glanbia for the TTT win. And congrats to LLS for the report

Dominance for Jura and Glanbia, some potentially huge points here.
Very much not out TT team so no surprise on our performance. Hopefully Keough can put in a decent sprint tomorrow and stay in the points jersey picture.
Thanks for the reports.

Wow, that TTT went much better than expected! Glanbia winning this one was pretty obvious, and well-deserved, but taking 2nd place and even moving into the top GC position is great! Let's see if Marchewka has another great TT performance in his legs, or if Rekita can more live up to his stats on the last stage. But barring any disaster, this should be a pretty productive race in terms of points for us. Although Glanbia will obviously end up with a pretty insane score - 7 in the Top 10 currently, and all of them do have the potential to stay there...
Congrats to MacC on a great lineup and a deserved TTT win here, and thanks to LLS for the report.

And suddenly having 1/3 of your team doing only TTs seems worthwhile!
Well, that was expected but I had no idea how the gaps would be and the GC. Even on our very best day on our most perfect route Jura have a guy who can beat us in GC!
The Win goal probably won't happen- Cruz might have been the best shot at pulling it off but he was the one who dropped a few seconds!
Thanks LLS and provisional congrats to Jura!

Remind us to never sign up to this again.
However nice to see Kaislavuo getting a podium, he's been active this year and will certainly getting a new contract. |

What a stupid stage that was... No clue why the peloton was so dumb here - but I guess it didn't matter for us anyway, as Stepniak was nowhere close to the front. Commiserations to the team with really good sprinters, though.
Fortunately - at least for us - the stage didn't have a major impact on the GC, so everything is still possible tomorrow. Except for the team standings, unfortunately.
Congrats to Bonduelle on the upset stage win, plus very, very likely the green jersey locked up.
Thanks for the report.

Strange day, but I have to ask about the Team GC, how did BNZ overtake my guys? I have like 6 out of the top 8? Is that perhaps a stage result?

They had 3 riders in that first small group with a 1 minute advantage, that is why. Team standings are calculated with the three best riders per team per stage, GC is completely irrelevant. That's why breakaways can have a major impact - or strange splits like today.
Btw, TTT stages are different - the stage result is taken 1:1 for the team standings, but it only counts once, and not for three riders.

Sad we couldn't get a win in the sprints. Hopefully Erdenebat can do well in the individual TT later in the race.

Thanks Fab, I had no idea! A very clever tactic by BNZ so!
Feels a little unfair.....

Well, I guess it's not a horrible result, but seeing Rekita missing out on even a stage Top 3 in both TTs, while being the division's fastest TTer, definitely doesn't feel good. I guess he's yet to get a stage with really good daily form... Marchewka having his worst day today didn't help, either.
On the other hand, I guess Glanbia's ridiculous team result is deserved here. They were the only team to really invest into a full squad of TTers, and it paid off very big time here. I definitely didn't expect them to have almost the entire team in the GC Top 10, but the competition - especially in the TTT - was too weak to deny them this fantastic result. That some of their riders had a great daily form on stage 6 kind of had to be expected given their numbers, but I was obviously hoping for Rekita to at least have a good day.
Congrats to Glanbia for some great management choices and to a result that might go down in history as the highest scoring C2 race for a team ever
Thanks for the reports, LLS.

Impressive stuff from Glanbia, the field was in their favor but you have to execute.
I think the other stronger TTT set ups are all climber driven so didn't want to spend days here.
Keough came up with a stage win so not sure I can complain. Just slightly better performances on the other stages, or they catch the break on Stage 5 and it could have been a better than 5th on points.
LLS thanks for the reports

Well, that probably deserves an update in Team HQ!
By my calculations around 50pprd- a good return.
Lots of little extra bonuses- Downey is first ever Irish GC winner for Glanbia, Juneau probably my first ever points in the Youth GC... first ever TTT win (surprised?)
Thanks for the congrats and the reports. Commiserations to FAB, was sure your boy would bring it home.
The Rás brings reality...after Tachira we got a few months' momentum to cover poor results, suppose we have another window now

Well not the tour we were hoping for. Hopefully we can pick it back up. Erdenebat just wasn’t able to hold his own in the time trial.

First Thanks for the reporting and congrats to the winners.
When I look at our results here then it's probably save to say thats one of our worst races yet. The most mmorable thing was P17 (!!!!) from Predatsch at stage 6. Everyhing else isnt worth mentioning. But to see the good thing, we learned a lot for our future during this race :-D
