Guess that was not what you were hoping for but 5th from an almost bunch sprint up the final hill is always difficult to predict. Hope things pick up though

It seems a bit weird to see a dark orange as a sign of succes. That would be "alarming" to me
Overall not bad to achieve the goal, while missing lower goals by just 3 spots - and then only getting a 5/10 rating

Most of the time if it's an uphill bunch sprint Beltran is in such a bad position that it doesn't matter if he's having a good or bad day. Tbh it's getting pretty old

5/10 is a failing grade. That's what you get for the bare minimum and failing to put two 78 HI riders in the top 30. Missing it by "just 3 spots" is inconsequential if it results in zero points.

Congrats, 10/10 is definitely an achievement
Great planning for sure, also helped by the fact that S3 was far less selective than last year (not necessarily in terms of bunch size, but rather required hill stat) - you definitely sent the right guys for this one

After a slow start and some early disappointments, the team rounded into solid shape by the end of March. While Pogacar didn't do as well as expected in Portugal, the entire race wasn't awful. He then made up for that in Pais Vasco where we also won our first ever team time-trial. Katrasnik has been floundering in flat classics since last season, but struck gold with 3rd place in the Great Ocean Road Classic. A massive result at the PTHC points scale. Finally the delayed Jelajah SKL added another close to 100 points, thanks mainly to a great performance by Izidor Penko and new arrival Marko Pavlic.
12th place in the rankings is a good spot and we'll aim to stay in that area of the table. For that to happen Eddy Beltran will need to get up to speed in his next races. On the bright side it's nice to see a number of Slovenian riders carrying the team up to this point.

Didn't manage to follow racing super closely over the past few weeks, but I'm happy to see you made a significant jump from the first ranking update. Katrasnik and Penko with some really nice, perhaps slightly unexpected points, Beltran with a decent PpRD, that's something to build upon, I suppose

Yeah, you can't do that well without things going your way. I had some luck for sure.

Katrasnik was the bigger surprise since he didn't produce a single good result all of last season in flat classics. Penko scored 99 pts last year and seems to be on track for a similar total. So either he's good for one nice result in hybrid TT races or he's simply double lucky
Beltran's ppRD is quite awful imo, but it's been just two races. I'll see what we're working with pretty soon now.

Start | End | | Race | Category | 12-Apr | 18-Apr | | Tour de Pologne | 2.HC | 25-Apr | | | GP Wallonie | 1.HC | 28-Apr | | | Lisbon Classic | 1.HC |
Not a busy month, but the three races are HC, HC and HC. Pologne is a sponsor goal race and the perfect chance for Eddy Beltran to bounce back and get his season back on track. A similar scenario with GP Wallonie, even though we know it's not his favourite race. The Lisbon Classic is more of a free hit of sorts, but perhaps we replicate a similar performance as in the Great Ocean Road Classic.
Start | End | | Race | Category | 09-May | 10-May | | Chrono d'Arenberg | 1.PTHC | 12-May | 14-May | | Tour of Chile | 2.1 | 17-May | 23-May | | Int. Osterreich Rundfahrt | 2.HC | 27-May | 31-May | | Tour of Norway | 2.HC |
As with most PTHC races, most you simply attend because no band is even near to ideal. So expectations for the Arenberg TT are pretty low. Chile is a race where we had success last year and will hopefully be a happy hunting ground again. We finish up the month of May with more HC stage races. Two very different races in Austria and Norway, but as with any HC race, it's a scoring opportunity that shouldn't be wasted.
You can expect more installments like this as the season progresses and the race calendar becomes revealed. This is part 2 of 4.

Oof, not clear what happened to your team here. Sympathies.
I think you said before the season Beltran tends to alternate good and bad and this year was due to be bad. Appears that was unfortunately accurate.

Things have not been going that well recently. Hoping the team can it around soon. No reason to have the kind of results you have been having, especially with Beltran.

We will keep this short. There were only three races for us in this April update. And all three races were nothing short of a disaster. That is especially true for Pologne which was a sponsor goal race for our team. With our main rider failing to carry us like in seasons past, we find ourselves in a vulnerable position in the standings. We just have to keep working and hopefully our results change for the better.
