This is problematic for Huski, really feel for them. Anderberg up front is good. And who knows, if we're lucky, that could be key for a minor GC position for him. |

Cool for Ewan to make an impression on his return to the big leagues And Manninen too on his PT debut (?)
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Ah what the fuck why can't we get our riders lined up in order for the third time? Again sprints way too messy for us.

Fourth straight howler from Grosu. What the fuck?
Mannien so close to another stage is good to see! Ewan doing well after his horror season last year is nice also. It’s hard to keep sprint stages interesting (albeit a race full of them), but all the reports so far have been wonderful. Thanks Ulrich!

Hmm not a good stage at all...
Our train doesn't work well, and Coquard is suffering from it.
Surprising that there are no splits yet.

Pity to only take 8th there - could really have done with a bigger chunk of time bonuses I expect, for any hope of a GC outcome.

Nice one from Matti. Messy sprint preparation from him to go from wheel to wheel without sticking to one, but it seems like he made the right choices after all. A pity Ewan came through in the end, but second on the stage and remaining second in GC is definitely positive.
Thanks for the great report again, Ulrich, and congratulations on back to back, Scorchio

Would be pretty interesting to know how exactly our sprint train looked like and where the problems were, sadly I can't take that out of the report (neither who of our riders chased and thus whether the team may used train riders for the sprint train...). Thanks for the very good to read reports though out of this clapped race.

I think we need to find a way to assign Manninen the highest OVL of all sprinters next year. The stats clearly don't justify it, but he really looks to be the best (performing) sprinter in the DB - and on top of that has an almost 50% RD advantage on Gaviria... sick guy ^^
Congrats, Nemo, looks like you can't do anything wrong with that flying Finn! He'll easily bring the GC home I guess

What a win for the flying Finn! Has he got enough in him to hold off the pack during the epilogue? Hopefully he does. Congrats Nemo!

Manninen continues to smash this race. What a legend! Congrats Nemo!
Good result for us with Van der Sande taking a podium here.

That looks like a GC deciding stage win Congratulations again, Nemo!
Good news Kragh made the cut, that should make a GC top 20 possible, but more importantly is the stage win, which is our main goal for this race. |

We sure isn’t very good at creating a train, so we’ll have to make do with what we get, and 5th isn’t bad looking at the GC. Unfortunately it isn’t realistic to catch either of the 2 above, but 3rd should be safe and that’s alright.
Farantakis is in a good position to attack a GC top 10 which is better than we could have dared to dream of beforehand, so that cover the loss of Coquard not winning the race. Bouglas will drop a lot, but we have some decent timetriallist in the front group behind the rest. Vlatos for one. Kiriakidis unfortunately haven’t paid attention the last couple of stages and drops to 4th in U25. I don’t really know where he stands in terms if the GC… could be OK. Ioannidis, Kortsidakis and Stavrakakis are also OK, but I would be surprised to see more than maybe 1 of those making top 50.
The break on the final Stage definately helped a lot though.

First of all, thank you for the great reports to Ulrich, and for posting the last two stages to jandal.
Manninen saves our start of the season in an amazing way. Never outside of the top-7 in the sprint stages, two stage wins and a second place as well. Simply amazing. Strong epilogue as well, which sees him score well over 450 points. I honestly don't know very well how PT points work exactly, but I can imagine that's decent
A bit gutted that our two (even three with Sterbini) time trialists decided to chill at the back of the peloton and got put at almost two minutes in the final sprint stage, as they could have gotten us some nice depth points and made up for their bad start of the season in Tasmania. For both Zmorka (who once again did quite badly, although of course a prologue is a bit more random) and Sütterlin these were basically nine race days without any points. Luckily we have Manninen to keep us alive.

We're lucky Coquard had an awful epilogue, but those two should've fought for the win instead of 3 and 4. At the end we leave the Tour of Qatar with no desaster, but with a plenty of missed opportunities and much less points than expected.
Thank you for the reports, they were a good read even if they broke my heart between 2-3km to go every time.

Great final stage for us! The stage win, three riders outside the GC top 10, but inside the top 25, and also the teams classification, which give us solid points here.
What a race for LPH, big congratulations! Manninen seems determined to keep your team in the PT, Nemo! |

Coquard FFS. That wasn’t part of the plan. Kiriakidis unlucky aswell, so despite a good ride from Vlatos and Farantakis not ideal.
Still a decent race.

Very poor showing from Howson. Van der Sande, our GC guy, finishes penultimate today. Two awful races to start this season is just the nightmare we didn't need.
Thanks for the great reports UU and congrats on a brilliant victory, Nemo!

Huge congrats on the win mate! Well deserved btw - and a very solid way to get the Pro Tour season going.
450 points is massive! Absolutely! Last season that would have given him 82nd in the individual ranking - for the entire season! And with adjusted racedays (7%) it will be as high as 70. The likes of Houle, van der Lijke, Eisler and Holst Enger scored 600-650 points, so Manninen barely needs to perform for the rest of the season to perform up to the pre season expectations.

Thanks for the reports. It has been a great read, and I love to see them coming so quickly. It's really nice as a participating team :-)
Commiserations alex for a horrible race. That really suck!
For our team we have 2 consequtive races in which we have outdone our best case scenario. Tasmania 32 points above our highest realistic estimate of 150, and 85 points about our highest realistic estimate here of 400. That's a very nice start.
Kiriakidis is over halfway towards his goal already, Farantakis 1/3, Coquard 1/4 and the rest of the cast basically on point as to what we expect.
It always suck to score less in certain positions than what seemed given - Like Coquard riding a horrible prologue, but in this case it's a matter of 13 points lost.
So far it has been very enjoyable, but it has also been a couple of races where we have foreign leaders to outscore our greeks, so it will be interesting to see in the next couple of races where that isn't the case. Will we collapse, or can we achieve something regardless?
