Great stuff from Boswell, can't ask for a better start.
And was mostly him as he was isolated with 40k to go, problem with him being a big favorite and our team hills team being marginal is they do a lot of chasing early and he is left on his own. This time he was more than up to it.
Also good he was a step above today as otherwise you are left with a pretty big group involved and then it can get pretty ugly for the favorites as Fab notes.
Thanks Red for the report.

Surprise result for Luchshenko. Really good to be on podium in our debut race. |

Good way to start the season for McCormick! Boswell laying down the law in the first hilly race might be a sign of things to come for the season. Congrats Ulrich!

Shouldn’t be much of a surprise, his statline will work really well in CT. He won’t podium every race obviously, but it’s really good to see him doing well. Would have loved to have kept him around for another season.

Apparently the PCM Gods preferred Hoelgaard over Schlegel for this parcour. Perhaps we shouldn't be too surprised given the rather long false flat at the finish, and we definitely shouldn't be disappointed with 2nd-place. I don't think it is entirely that shocking that Luchshenko and Barbero were near the front for the same reasons, Elia Favilli however? What?

A good too 10 to begin the season. I was definitely hoping for more but it’s very early days! Keen to see how the rest of January goes for us
Congrats to Boswell and the victory

Head start for McCormick in what I predicted would be a duel over the division title with Jura. Big performance by Boswell, a bit of a stinker by Moscon, but I wouldn't worry too much yet about him. Very happy to see Vliegen in 4th place, him and Lampaert for 350k could low key be one of the big steals of the transfer season. What a fantastic opening day for Adler!

Very happy with this 7th place, better than what we expected.
With Pacher 25th and the youngster in the breakaway, we can be satisfied with this start.
Thanks redordead for the report and congrats to the winner. |

Well, to me that looked like one of the tougher C2 hilly classics of the year, and yet clearly inferior puncheurs (with mountain stat not even mattering at all here) made it in the front group. In 2020, this race was C1, having a clearly stronger startlist, and he got 10th - so yes, I find this result pretty worrying. Most worrying to me is that PCM apparently didn't even consider him as a favorite, given that he was never close to the front, and we even had two escapees. Haven't seen that in C2 races so far tbh...
But yeah, there's hope he "just" was at -5 daily form, which would be the only reasonable explanation for this. Same for Edmondson btw ^^
