No win TDF goal this year? who are you and what have you done with Evonik? that's one of those predictable things like TMM go big or go home

Before 2022: "We're no stage race team but we want to win TdF".
2022: "We're a stage race team, but we don't care about winning TdF"
Sounds reasonable
Congrats on that big fat signing anyway - as well as on your talents. Future indeed looks bright, although training money might be missing this year indeed

sammy - Only the second time in seven PT seasons that i went without the TDF win goal. The other one was when Taaramae was in FA and my top target there...
Fabianski - I didnt say i dont care about winning TDF, it's just not the goal for this year Hard to do a lot of training but we can always look into the future for that now that our leader duo for the next couple of years is secured...

Farzad Khodayari (30) FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | 66 | 75 | 73 | 62 | 71 | 72 | 72 | 52 | 64 | 72 | 72 | 80 | 62 |
Khodayari is our first free agency signing with pro experience. The 30 year old will earn the minimum contract worth 50,000 this season.
Farzad is a climber who can do well on both longer and shorter climbs. He has the necessary punch you'd associate with attacking riders and is a daredevil on descents. He will be a part of our mountain train for Lecuisinier but will also get opportunities to attack.

For sure. My roster building is definitely with an eye to the future. With a leader duo thats in their prime till 2025 i dont have to make any moves to win now...

Gerben Thijssen (24) FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | 73 | 61 | 62 | 60 | 72 | 69 | 76 | 64 | 77 | 79 | 65 | 64 | 60 |
Gerben Thijssen is our first and so far only loan signing for the upcoming season. The Belgian joins us from Zara - Irizar and we will pay the entirety of his 50,000 contract.
Gerben is a pure sprinter. His climbing is only just good enough that he can survive mountain stages but his strength is his super quick acceleration. He will be our lead sprinter going into the upcoming season.

Obviously amazing to bring de la Cruz in in that deal, not sure if it was worth 4.3m + Chiarello but I guess you got some other guy back as well? Thijssen is a pretty nice guy to bring in for a loanee too

jandal - I was thinking about going sprinterless but Thijssen seemed like a nice option too. Especially getting a small fee to have him felt like a good idea
cio - Guess we have to move our nice little rivalry into the mountains?

Free Agent Signing #5, #6, #7
Jaako Hänninen (25) FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | XP | 69 | 69 | 71 | 69 | 69 | 71 | 73 | 55 | 63 | 70 | 69 | 67 | 69 | 3.0 | 70 | 72 | 76 | 70 | 71 | 73 | 75 | 55 | 64 | 74 | 73 | 68 | 70 | 4.100 |
Jaako Hänninen returns to professional cycling. The former Valio talent lost a year of development last year when he signed with Polestar but will race this year for us. He signed a contract worth 50,000.
Hänninen is a fairly versatile rider that feels most at home in short stage races. He is quick over the hills but is also fairly strong over longer mountains and in time trials. He has a quick acceleration and can recover from efforts well. For the future, we see the most potential focussing on his strength over hills.
Asbjorn Hellemose (23) FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | XP | 66 | 69 | 69 | 59 | 69 | 70 | 70 | 61 | 62 | 65 | 66 | 69 | 59 | 2.92 | 67 | 76 | 76 | 60 | 72 | 73 | 76 | 61 | 62 | 71 | 73 | 70 | 60 | 4.100 |
Asbjorn Hellemose is the second nordic talent we have convinced to join us. He signed a contract worth 50,000.
Hellemose is a climber. He likes longer and shorter climbs but dislikes most other races. We see him developing into a strong domestique for Miguel Angel Lopez.
Fredrik Dversnes (25) Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | XP | Fredrik Dversnes | 71 | 65 | 67 | 64 | 71 | 72 | 68 | 67 | 65 | 71 | 72 | 65 | 66 | 2.62 | Fi - Fi - Fi | 78 | 68 | 70 | 67 | 75 | 76 | 72 | 70 | 68 | 77 | 79 | 68 | 69 | 4.100 | CB - CB - CB | 77 | 65 | 68 | 64 | 77 | 76 | 71 | 74 | 71 | 72 | 73 | 66 | 66 | 4.100 | CB - Fi - CB | 78 | 66 | 68 | 65 | 77 | 76 | 72 | 72 | 70 | 73 | 75 | 66 | 67 | 4.100 |
He is the third nordic talent we signed this year on a minimum contract: Fredrik Dversnes signed his 50,000 contract basically at the same time as Hänninen and Hellmose.
Dversnes is an exciting young rouleur. It can be assumed that he develops into a proper flat beast over time with a lot of energy. We could see him developing a secondary liking for the cobbles but might also want him to focus on his attacking skills.

Absolutely, none of them might be particularly special but they all fit profiles that we could definitely need in the future if they remain a long-term part of the team.
Wojciech Pszczolarski (31) FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | 73 | 60 | 70 | 74 | 68 | 72 | 67 | 53 | 71 | 72 | 68 | 65 | 77 |
One of the busiest rider this off-season was Wojciech Pszczolarski. He started the off-season renewing his contract with Team Popo4Ever p/b Morshynska who quickly sold him to new CT outfit Staffbase - BHP. They went on to trade him to Duolingo in exchange for Yoeri Havik. He already boarded the flight, when news came that Duolingo cancelled the transfer deal. Upon returning to the Staffbase staff base, he learned that a new deal was agreed that sends him to Evonik - ELKO in exchange for cycling legend Yannick Stoltz. This marks his return to the manager that started his career in 2018 when he signed him for their amateur team Signal Iduna.
Pszczolarski is a prologue specialist who can perform in longer time trials and is somewhat decent over hills and in small group sprints. His skill set can be valuable for the few team time trials that we might have to ride as well as for flatter stage races.

Luke Plapp (22) Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | XP | Luke Plapp | 69 | 70 | 71 | 70 | 67 | 73 | 69 | 58 | 62 | 67 | 72 | 64 | 71 | 1.0 | SR-SR-SR-SR | 72 | 79 | 76 | 77 | 74 | 78 | 76 | 58 | 62 | 68 | 73 | 65 | 78 | 4.100 | Clv1-Clv1-Clv1-Clv1 | 70 | 79 | 79 | 71 | 70 | 77 | 76 | 58 | 62 | 74 | 80 | 65 | 72 | 4.100 | SR-Clv1-SR-Clv1 | 70 | 79 | 78 | 73 | 72 | 78 | 76 | 58 | 62 | 72 | 77 | 65 | 74 | 4.100 | SR-SR-Clv1-SR | 72 | 79 | 77 | 76 | 73 | 77 | 76 | 58 | 62 | 69 | 75 | 65 | 77 | 4.100 |
Luke Plapp is a very exciting talent that wants to start his career with us. He signed a 325k contract with us but will ride for Staffbase this year who take over 200k of his salary for the year in exchange for a nice fee.
Plapp is a complete stage racer who can excel on longer and shorter climbs and is competent on the time trial bike. We see him as one of the strongest GT riders of the next generation.

Plapp is an incredible signing. He should be competing at a very high level pretty quickly. And that price tag is very manageable, too. Got your stage racing leader of the future right there!

Plapp is a great signing and it must be a joy working with him even in the first year!
I think he is in good hands with you and so i dont need to be depressed about not getting him.

Compared to other top talents this year or in previous years, 325k is pretty cheap for Plapp, congrats! He won't be the most explosive rider for sure, but with those potential skillsets it's safe to say you're a stage racing team by now

Plapp is awesome, compared to Girmay and Evenepoel he's a complete steal for that wage, best talent signing of transfers! Cool to see you secure another leader of the future for you after the last couple of transitioning years
