But van Aert doesn't have a great acceleration, he's more of a power sprinter.
Also Merlier is definitely faster than Philipsen (while Philipsen is easily the better rider overall). It's either him or Jakobsen that's the fastest in the world at the moment, but he's not riding any GT this year so could be hard to judge.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Merlier and Jakobsen is overrated. How many have they won on the tour? Cavendish 34. |

Actually Merlier has won 100% of his sprints in the Tour

Yes, in HISTORY...
@db makers
Will the new update contain major updates to important riders? Or mostly just finetuning? |

Do you mean the incorporation of the new RES and STA mechanism? If so these have been applied to quite a few riders already. We haven't made any drastic changes, as it may upset gameplay too much,
As for Cavendish he's high enough at 81 sprint, which is the second highest stat tier we are giving sprinters, so he has a high sprint stat, This is actually based more on his huge experience rather than his actual sprint.

Cavendish won 4 stages the last time he was with in the tour. Jakobsen only won 1. I think it was a big mistake for Quick-Step not to take Cavendish with.
Cavendish: sp 83 and acc 79
Jakobsen: sp 82 and acc 78 |

And Messi is the greatest football player in history, right... Doesn't mean he is the best currently, just like Cavendish isn't the best sprinter currently. |

CR7 > Messi.
Cavendish is still the best, so we last he was in the tour. |

If we take Mas as a solid 80 mtn rider with very good rec. I'd say Ayuso could be 78/78 with low rec but Rodriguez is a bit harder to stat. Sometimes he looks like a 79 mtn and others like a 78 but also with low rec. We can see how both Ayuso and Rodriguez do in the final mtn stages this week and then decide.

Maybe not Cavendish 83 sprint, but if you look at how he won british national champs you will know he needs an overall buff.
He had form to win another stage at the tour, but Quickstep simply favoured another sprinter this year |

Is it only me that see many ridiculous attributes this edition. I don't know if it's the new potential system, the change in Res and Sta usage , the database or whatnot but the thing I've noticed is there are too many guys with insane stats which should only be reserved for generational talents like Pogi, Wout, Remco, MvdP etc.. You won't reach these ridiculous attributes in pro cyclist mode with a Grand Champion six-star potential even if you maxed out your cyclist which is impossible via normal gameplay.
Too many guys with absurd potential and they develop it too fast and too many guys surviving the climbs after what is supposed to be a hard day.
I'm in my 4th season of pro cyclist but Kasper Asgreen with five 82+ attributes made me lol. Surprisingly, Jonas looks to be the more human but of course the database hasn't updated yet after Tdf. |
