Better late than never - But a big and warm welcome to the game!
Looks really interesting with the small team focus. Not sure there are that many riders worth it from San Marino, but we know better than anyone that if you stick with it for long enough it will happen at one time

Thank you! Our focus has widened to other micro nations so hopefully we can pull it off.

Our first transfer!
The management team at Colombini-Adler AP are very happy to announce our first transfer!
Presenting; The Sultan of Sprint
Lahcen Saber | Age: 32 | Lvl: 4.100 | Wage: 310k FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 75 | 62 | 68 | 64 | 74 | 72 | 78 | 76 | 81 | 79 | 63 | 68 | 70 |
Saber was our Number One target from the get-go, he certainly wasn't cheap! A cool €400.000 was needed to pull him away from our friends at Cedevita. And at a wage of €310.000 he will be earning as much as our 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th highest earners combined. But he is certainly worth it. As a superstar in the sprint, and a very capable commander on the cobbles, we will be depending on him to deliver us the points needed to finish high up in the CT standings! Watch this space for our other high profile transfers.

Welcome !
On that wage it's almost all in on your sprinter. I am sure the AI won't frustrate you at all !

Two for two!
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | | Alain Quispe | 80 | 52 | 52 | 61 | 62 | 60 | 64 | 53 | 66 | 73 | 84 | 55 | 61 | 28 |
A star sprinter needs a man to guide him to the sprints, and Alain Quispe will be doing exactly that! You'll do hard to find a man better on the flats for the mere €50.000 wage he is on. A match made in heaven, the Peruvian Pirate is here to make life hell for the peloton on their way to mass sprints, delivering our Sultan to the promised lands. At €200.000 he certainly wasn't the biggest chunk out of our pocket. But a most welcome addition to the team.

A couple of great flat riders to begin your MG journey and throwing around some cash Saber should be an awesome leader for your first season!
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

@MacC That was going to be the plan when this transferwindow started, but you’ll see later that this isn’t the case anymore.
@jandal7 Saber was always the top target at the start. And for the first few days it was always going to be the focus to build a flat team around him. Many impulsive decisions later I think it’ll pay off.

I really hope Saber does well for you, I think he has the capability to really dominate in CT with his varied skillset
I like "The Sultan of the Sahara" title, hopefully he's the Sultan in a lot of races

Let's see if the Saber "gamble" pays off. I think it will, but I hope it doesn't |

The good news for me is that Saber only has 36 race days in CT - and I don't have a cobbler (yet)
In all honesty, it's a massive signing, and for just 400k he's definitely a steal. Given that he's mopping up 1/4 of your wage cap, it will be interesting to see how you shape up your team around him - there's surely room for a second good CT-level leader
And Quispe... The question is if you'll get him maxed at one point, or if you like it as a lvl4 rider already. Just beware of any speed bumps out on the road

@redordead Really hope Saber can fulfill his teamleader role. I just realised that Sultan of Sprint might be a better title for him! haha
@GregPeck I sure do hope the gamble pays off!
@knockout If his performance is dependant on my planning I fear for the worst xD
@Fabianski I don't know if it's better or worse to tell you Saber isn't our cobble leader haha. And I do think my team had a great transfermarket, the rest of the team will be revealed in the coming days. Quispe maxed would be gold with that flat stat, but we will see how he fares with us. Hopefully he pulls his weight as much as he did with Los Pollos Hermanos!

Saber is a big swing for the fences. But if he can have a season like Stallaert did in PCT last year it will pay off. If he rides more like his own previous seasons, could be disappointing. Fun to see what you fill out the rest of the team with.

@TMM I’ll brew a special potion to get the best out of Saber this year! Its a balls to the wall, go big or go home move for sure but hopefully it’s worth it.

Transfer Update 2
It's time to reveal our talents we have signed from the Free Agent list.
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | Stan Martino | 67 | 67 | 64 | 64 | 69 | 67 | 69 | 67 | 65 | 65 | 67 | 66 | 64 | | Andrea Aquilani | 69 | 64 | 66 | 68 | 68 | 67 | 68 | 64 | 68 | 69 | 68 | 66 | 68 | | Ben Turner | 65 | 63 | 65 | 66 | 67 | 67 | 61 | 62 | 68 | 70 | 62 | 68 | 67 | | Daniel Bonello | 68 | 66 | 66 | 67 | 68 | 68 | 68 | 67 | 66 | 66 | 63 | 70 | 68 | | Felix Sprenger | 70 | 66 | 66 | 66 | 71 | 68 | 66 | 65 | 66 | 74 | 70 | 76 | 68 |
With Martino and Aquilani we have struck gold in Sanmarinese youth. Aquilani has already shown to be the more talented of the pair but time will tell whats to expect from both 22 year olds.
Ben Turner, who already had his debut last season with cycleYorkshire, should be a clear talent for the sprintergods. Hopefully he can be the successor to Saber when the time comes. But first and foremost he will get the time and coaching to develop to the fullest.
As our regional focus has expanded to other microstates it would only be logical to strike up the best talents from Malta and Liechtenstein respectively. Bonello, has a decent spread of potential paths he could take in his development. And we will be looking at what fits best for both him and the team. But! The future is bright for this 23 year old islander.
Sprenger may perhaps even be the biggest talent out of the five. With already several stats in the 70s it will only be a matter of time when he will fight the big dogs.
You may now be wondering, what happened to Cavendish? I swear he was signed. Well, thats a story for another update! Along with the 7th and last FA that was signed on our team. This brings our total team up to 7 riders out of the 15 needed. Whenever I have time you can expect the deals and loanees to be revealed. Ciao Ciao!
