Look at that! The great Rein is back
Big congratulations on the stage win, knockout. And wow, this makes me excited for the continuation as well. Could he defend and win one finale Grand Tour!?
Also, thank you for another great report, UU! I've followed the Vuelta day by day from start and until now, but haven't commented. You've done great reporting so far, and I'm looking forward to follow this until the very end. |

"Luckily" for my team the break was caught.
Not really acceptable in such a big break that none of my climbers was in there.
Carboni riding for GC, fair enough.
Ciccone is having his best ever race for me I think also kind of riding for top25 GC.
But still Schlegel, Koep, Denz could have attacked. 5 climbers in the race without a top10-15 chance basically, so at least 1-2 should try it.
Carboni unfortunately with 1-2 min too much loss here. Had hoped to see him around the 3'54 or 4 min groups really. Likely not on a good day here.
Congrats knockout. Taaramae doing well while Tenorio is having his first "weaker" day. It remains close between those two though while Madrazo is still not totally out of competition neither and at last has done well to extend the gap to the 4th. |

Really really Awesome report. Epic stage as well, Täaramae absolutely blitzing the competition here. I wonder if Tenorio is suffering from his efforts yesterday, or simply had a bad day?
Nearly into my favourite part of a GT, the third week breakaway battles

Not much to say really. We sent two guys in the break. Once more only 1 that was suited for the stage though, but it's fine.
De la Cruz wasn't quite up to speed, and lost a spot in the GC. He needs to be slightly better on stages like this to be in for a realistic shot at top 10, but he's still in a very solid 12th.

Big one for knockout, love it! We did not participate today, hopefully saving energy for sprint stages!

Thanks everybody
A quiet day today is a good day. Calmly defending the leaders jersey. In a perfect world Dzama properly joins the sprint but pcm is no perfect world and i dont want to complain too much about it. Still gonna mention it again tomorrow when it will happen once more.

The race hasn't turned around for us in the last stages and today was no different. Good to see Tolhoek being quite aggressive, but he should pick his stages better. High mountain finishes are not for him.

So, good sprint trains and the best sprinter winning consistently. How did that happen?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Didn’t even realise poor Van der Lijke was here until I saw the favourites list, wtf is he doing?

So Farantakis had his great sprint here where it didn’t amount to anything. What a shame. A 2nd place would have been amazing.
Puma really giving Isostar a fight for their money from the lucky breaks.

No idea why my team is not joining those breaks when it`s basically fully build for breakaways as only chance of scoring.
It`s nice from a role play kind of view to see them fight for top15-25 but it won`t deliver any real points.
Hope for some more in the last week. |

Really scared of the next top finish. With the steepness after such a long stage, this might be the least Taaramae friendly stage and might also be the stage where team depth can help the least. Defending the jersey for that day would be huge before the TT. Would be a great ride if he can limit the losses to Tenorio here.

Very good ride by Brambilla. Maybe he should be the one going for the breakaways and not Tolhoek. Or at least join the Dutchman in them. He could have mounted a much better challenge for the KoM jersey.

Holy shit. What a show of force by Taaramae. Winning the stage while dropping a minute on Tenorio is the best possible outcome. I was so scared when he attacked so early with helpers from Evonik, MOL and Gazelle still in the group but he must have been on an outstanding day for that ride.
Spoiler and lol at my previous post - not the best prediction of mine
The mountain time trial up next. Tenorio is the obvious favourite but i hope that
Taaramae can finish second and limit the loss to maybe half a minute while Madrazo should be slightly weaker (particularly if the red jersey gives a slight bonus in TTs which i'm not sure?). But it's close enough that he could also finish 1st or 3rd. I would be quite disappointed if he falls behind anyone else.
Notworthy that this might even set up him up for a good finish in the KoM too as there are three mountain top finishes left and both Puma guys might not be able to get the biggest hauls in the remaining days with stronger climbers now entering these breaks.

Awful day for Cattaneo and Zwift. We kept all our riders in the peloton to support our GC leader and it didn't seem to matter. Looks like the AI doesn't want our squad in the breaks either. If it wasn't for Swift's heroics, this Grand Tour would be a catastrophe.

A shame such an awesome day for GB came when the gaps were so small. Guess Cattaneo is in reach now (at least before the TT lol) but don't doubt he's back to being well ahead of Bennett for the rest of the race. Promising performance though I guess, good effort from Higuita in the break too and actually a great ride from Meurisse to 23rd lol
Nice effort from van Zyl getting a top 5 yesterday from the break as well
