This is prime early 10s Vos.
What a leadout from Italy. Great stuff from Balsamo but I think the Italians played better as a team. Beware for Colbrelli and Trentin tomorrow. |

She’s going to be so good. Happy that Newiadoma took a medal though, she deserves it after riding so aggressively. Smart riding. |

Fascinating race, and a brilliantly designed course. Hard enough to slim the peloton down and bring fatigue and stamina into play, but easy enough to prevent easy attacks or a crushing Dutch blow.
Italy just suddenly swarming at the final corner rode superbly, didn't see them at all in the whole race until it mattered. Great lead-out, slight mistake behind Balsamo as riders went to the wrong wheel forcing Vos to accelerate once. And i think that was the deciding moment as it blunted her in the final hundred meters, just stalling out unable to overcome Elisa.
Dutch seemingly caught in two minds on the final lap, getting two riders into a 5-woman group with a gap. Didn't commit, but didn't really try and set-up for the sprint either behnd.
Dissapointed the Brits slipped away as Niewiadoma attacked (she did really really well to hold onto Bronze btw, especially on this kind of course). Great finish, intriguing and tactical race, loved it!
Womens cycling is the perfect length. Long enough to be tough and attritional. But short enough to keep energy for attacking racing & to not get boring in the middle.
God what a year for the Italians. Might have to put a bet on them tomorrow...

Speaking of the Worlds, here are the struggles of riders who are or were scheduled to be the sole representatives for their countries (or riders who are not from cycling powerhouses in general) as told by Grenada's Red Walters, who couldn't participate in the Men's U23 race.

Belgium furously chasing for Van Aert whilst Evenepoel is leading the break is amusing me and I'm ashamed to admit it's because Levefre lives rent free in my head

Drunk Lefevre? He’s kinda funny.
But I don’t like Belgian tactics either, almost no one left now. The Dutch are riding much smarter.
