[PCT '21] End of Season/Philips - Force India

It is with great pleasure that we welcome everyone to the HQ our team, as it enters into Year 5! Year 3 (2019) was a very difficult one for us, as we suffered relegation from the PCT. Last season, we made amends, finished 3rd in the CT, and reached our goal of getting promotion back to the PCT at the first attempt itself.

The year 2021 brings us a second shot in the PCT and we hope to grab it with both hands. We are excited going into the new season and have been hard at work trying to put a plan in place to make it successful.

We also bring you exciting news! While Philips have remained loyal to us from our inception, we are glad to announce the onboarding of a brand new secondary sponsor. This addition comes on the back of our successful season, and is a partnership we have been looking at forging for quite some time now. More details are divulged in the next section.

Primary Sponsor
i.imgur.com/wARRS9l.png

We owe a 100% and more gratitude to the kind of support and belief Philips have shown us since our start as a cycling team. They continue with us again, having agreed to a 2 year extension at the end of last season. As such our focus remains the same as in previous years, build the team around established and upcoming Dutch riders. We also hope to reward their continued support with a better showing in PCT than the last time we were here.
Secondary Sponsor
i.imgur.com/q6p5yoS.png

It is with great happiness that we announce the onboarding of Force India as our secondary sponsor for the next two seasons. While the Formula 1 team disbanded and sold all their assets to Racing Point, the brand and logo still belonged to Michiel Mols. We paid him a visit and convinced him to let us use it for a fair price. For this purpose, we have also enlisted Adrian Sutil, former Formula 1 driver for Force India, as a Team Manager for the upcoming season. We hope his cross-sport skill can serve us well.

The hope from this rebranding is simple, and along the lines of the principles followed by the F1 team. We wish to make the sport of cycling more popular in the home country of our Team Principal. We know that expecting Indian cyclists to suddenly compete at the top level is an unrealistic dream, but if this team can encourage a few to dream to ride alongside the likes of Herklotz and Wisniowksi one day, we will be thrilled!

We hope that will be a long a fruitful partnership, and extend beyond the current terms of the deal.
Other Sponsors
AVG Technologies join us our technology partners. The success of Paprtska last season seems to have opened doors for us in the Czech market, and we are glad to have them join us.

Airbus also join us as Research partners, and we will be using their cutting edge facilities to improve as a cycling team from the technical point of view.

We have a new jersey sponsor in Reebok as well, replacing Bioracer from last season.

ABN Amro, Audi, VDL, Canyon, SRAM, Zipp and Continental will continue sponsoring the team.

Primary Focus: Netherlands

Our primary focus remains the Netherlands. Our focus also continues to extend to riders from across the globe, anyone who we feel can become a part of our team building philosophy.

Love the incorporation of the Indian flag, very clean and classy jersey to take on the PCT!

I like it as well, no matter the division. And I am pretty convinced that you can retain your PCT status this time Smile

Who would have guessed Force India vs BWT would be one of the biggest cycling rivalries of 2021?

Unfortunately it won't be that epic since the two teams they support are in different divisions and won't encounter each other that often

Thanks for the nice words everyone Smile Hoyle really did a great job!

Would've gone for the BWT pink with Philips blue if the former was not already taken as a sponsor Wink

More C1 for you, more C2 for me, so we'll meet quite a bit!

But which one will Lawrence Stroll chose to take over and rebrand as Aston Martin? Grin

And what OVL is his son, who will automatically be added to the roster unable to be released? Pfft

As far as I'm concerned, Lawrence can take a stroll in the opposite direction.

Lance will get 60 across the board in next season's suggestions.

We say goodbye to Van der Sanden, Boev, Kreder, Bardet and Scaroni. Among them, only Bardet was offered a contract but he did not accept our highest offer. We thank him for his services for three seasons with us now. The others were cut as we do not feel they can contribute significantly this season.

Storer and Cepeda Hernandez return to their teams after spending last season on loan with us.

Eenkhoorn, Grossschartner and Minali return from their loan spells. We would like to thank HelooFresh, Grieg and the now defunct Valio for developing them.

Are we thrilled with our renewals? No. Are we disappointed with our renewals? No again. While the renewals was't ideal, we still have enough of a wage cap to play with to build a competitive team.

Yes that was consideration as well with Mols being the last owner of the Force India branding. Thanks for the wishes Smile

I'm very happy that Wilco could make up for the season prior and put your team back where it belongs! Smile
And it seems like he still can't make up his mind regarding a fair and steady wage, it's been bouncing for ages.

If the wage cap allows me to, I'll definitely be in contact regarding a loan for Eenkhoorn and/or Inkelaar to keep the connection between our teams going!
