In terms of AI stay away from '16 and '17, not much difference between '18 to '20. I like '20 best. Crashes not a big issue in any of them that I am aware of. There are definitely some people who still prefer the AI in '15.

PCM 2006 - PCM 2008 for sure But PCM 2014 for me is not bad, with several problems of AI though (in cobbled stages especially). Believe me, you haven't lost anything. I have a stable feeling the AI has stopped improving. So I guess PCM 2014 is a good choice with a lot of DB available, pretty nice graphics and with interesting feature of riders auto control (for the first (and best!) time in PCM).

after PCM15? 18. Everything else is broken. (just to not use other word).
and like tomcat said above, you didn't lost anything in terms of AI since PCM15. In a fact, if you play any edition since PCM15, you will feel nothing but step backs so stay on that. it's the last good pro cycling manager edition from the past years
