Thanks for more videos, Shonak. Brugse brutally dominant on cobblestones, great Bardet/Herklotz fight.
@cio: Maybe we can work out a Fritsch/Adams swap next season. Not that the WT would do Adams any good, but I need more British riders.

With Dombrowski out of it, our slide continues. I'm sure he still won't be joining any breaks later. Craddock doing well so far thanks to the TTs but he won't this high till the end. Kreder with two Top 10s is probably his best performances of the season so far. It's been a disappointing race for us besides the TTs.
Thanks for the coverage

Crap to lose Aru in this race, formed up to be a great GC battle. I hope krisa is not blaming dominox here, Ofc I'm not blaming anyone but the game
Just sad to see my budget will be fucked next season, which definately burns my team plans

Well, we got a stage win, but both green and white seem to be out of reach.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Decent fourth place for GVA, but still a very bad decision for me to give him a contract.
Also, to ask my question again, if several riders share the final KoM-lead, do they all get the same points?

Herrada continues to be in control although losing time against Quintana on the last stage, his stage win in yellow was pure class and guts. Very happy with him so far although the team performs rather weak, I should not have sent two Neopros to the Tour only for the time trial.
Austria S4-S6 posted. What a sprint up on the Sonntagsberg, in general amazing race by some riders. Pulido really consistent too, coming up on 4th in the GC eventually.

I'll take that in Österreich! (thanks for the videos!!)
Stage 4 was right up Silvio's alley with his punch-sprint combination, and he delivered perfectly. That's an encouraging sign for things to come.
Sadly, it was only one day in yellow as we got caught out the very next day.
Obviously it's annoying how leaving even the slightest gap while countering an attack absolutely burns your rider out without any chance of recovery in this game, but realistically, we didn't lose anything on stage 5 considering Herklotz would've still finished second in all classifications if he had been able to be around or ahead of Serry.
And on the bright side, Auer took over very well and finished nicely to get some direct points and climb in the GC to a very good 12th in the end.
Too bad Bardet was right on our tail in the final sprint, but taking 7th there adds another 4 points directly attributable to our off-season work.
So congrats to Bardet for an expected win, I really can't complain about the points haul from this penultimate focus race with plenty of stage results, 2nd and 12th in GC, second in both KoM and points, and again rounded off by a very strong team performance to win that classification outright!
I don't have the time to calculate the points percentage, but I hope it gets close to that sweet 20% mark that guarantees us decent extra budget.
Now it's time to best Nerz again and reclaim the CT throne for good!

Damn, my riders read my mid-season report and know they can take it easy from now on.
@Nemolito: I'm fairly sure the answer is no, it's always a definite ranking. Here's how it's done officially in case of a tie:
1. number of first places in the highest category climbs;
2. number of first places on climbs in the next inferior category and so on;
3. general individual classification by time

Punch and counterpunch for Quintana and Herradd in stages 10 and 12 and end up with about the same gap. Herrada was great on 10, even with Henao closing the first gap Nairo couldn't stay with him.
Seems like Herrada has used a lot of energy maybe that and Nairo's superior recovery will begin to tell.
Another stage win for Kittel. But a little worried by the amount of energy he seems to use in the mountain stages. But green jersey is now ours to lose.
I would love to win but if ended today with Nairo in 2nd I would not be complaining. Just stay on the bikes boys.

First Dombrowski, then Craddock. No one can join a meaningful break or go for the KOM. Saving our worst performances for the biggest race

Nice to see that Zollinger keeps on attacking but unfortunately it seems like he is not strong enough to compete for the KOM jersey or for a stage win. Caruso firmly in 11th at the moment, probably too high for an attack, but we'll see.

Bardet delivered on stage 5 in Austria giving Suntory a very successful focus race. I am encouraged for his chances to take his first GT win at La Vuelta.
Congrats to cio, I really hope Herklotz managed to deliver a max bonus for a focus race, he deserves it.
Thanks again Shonak for the reports, videos and great pace

That Bardet sprint up Sonntagberg was a true wattage bazooka. It's safe to say he will be ready for Vuelta. btw Was this his first GC stage race win?

Tour de France stages 14-17 are posted!
Quintana is still believing in success, tho Herrada quickly gained what he lost - again. Herrada also increased his lead on stage 17. Kittel looks as biggest favourite to win green jersey and only big problem on last stages could change outcome. He also arrived 12th on stage 16, dafaq . Best climber battle still not over as Périchon and Großschartner will fight it out on last mountain stages. |

Our fortunes are turning! Bouhanni with a stage win and Perichon with a shot of the KoM, this race is already infinitely better than the Giro!

Herrada looking very strong. Classy ride in the rain on 16 to regain what we took on 15 and then Nairo looked weak on 17, hopefully that is one day thing and not a sign because 18 to 20 aren't easy. I wondered if Kittel dropped back on 16 to help Nairo as he was with Herrada on the descent at one point and I thought he might finish even higher (not that 12th was bad).
Another stage win and a second, a strong position in Green, and 3 stages left to put Herrada under pressure. Can not complain about the situation.
Thanks for the coverage.

Another GT, another leader crashes hard (I guess). At least this one didn’t abandon and just got injured, right?
No stage joy to speak of but Davies is doing a brilliant job (or TGH is doing a crappy one) in hanging in there in the fight for white. Very unlikely he finds the seconds needed to get it back in the final days, but if he does that would be an awesome moment for our team
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Racing looking good, we have not been this close to yellow in a long while. Maybe since 2015, also against Quintana back then. Although Nairito still finds ways to gain time on Herrada, we manage to claw it back with some clever attacking. Bit concerned with the energy he invests though, hope he won't do a Yates and implode at some point. If everything works out normal, it will be tough to dislodge Herrada but a bad tt or a crash and Nairo has a good chance to it us hard.
Thanks for the great pace and coverage dominox!
