@Guave: We're hoping Keinath can use his overall skills to get some advantage over the pure climbers. Also hoping Dumoulin is more than a signing just for good publicity

I'll do you a favour and swap Seboka for Keinath On a serious note, I knew Marquez wasn't coming to me to win GC's, I just hope he can outperform guys like Keinath and maybe secure stage success here and there, as I don't think he'll ever be able to do so in a GC, so congratz

@Nemolito: Seboka, the legend!
Marquez should be good in CT despite the decline especially in races without a TT. Looking forward to those battles, as a former rider is always an interesting proposition to come up against.

Our penultimate transfer update this season. We end the transfer window by bringing in four more riders, one Free Agent, one transfer and two Stagiares. The final update will cover the CT Draft.
Geert Van der Sanden | Sprinter
Age: 32 | Wage: 50,000 | Only our second Free Agent signing, Van der Sanden joins the team to lead our sprinting department. While we are not expecting to concentrate too much on this terrain, he will definitely have enough race days to justify his abilities.

Our final transfer update for this season includes our Draft picks, riders going out on loan and the deaprtures.
Igor Boev | Sprinter
Age: 31 | Wage: Free Last season's top amateur was our top pick in the Draft, and we were able to secure his services despite having the last draft pick. The Adriatic alumnus joins our sprinting team and will share the load with Van der Sanden and the next rider to be unveiled.
Stats OVL | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DHI | PRL | 74.74 | 72 | 63 | 65 | 56 | 74 | 67 | 79 | 68 | 78 | 78 | 58 | 75 | 71 |
Michel Kreder | Sprinter
Age: 33 | Wage: Free One of the happiest we've felt during this transfer window was when Kreder's name popped up in the Draft next to ours. Michel was a key part of our promotion adventure back in our first season - 2017. Circumstances following that meant that he was released and spent two successful seasons at Delvaux. He now rejoins us for one last hurrah, despite his growing years. And yes, he was the second draft pick on our list, meaning we picked up our top two picks! Kreder further improves our flat and sprints squad, where we took a conscious decision not to invest too much in the actual transfer window.
Stats OVL | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DHI | PRL | 74.11 | 72 | 62 | 69 | 63 | 70 | 66 | 78 | 65 | 77 | 78 | 55 | 63 | 63 |
Felix Grossschartner | Loaned To: Grieg - Maersk
Age: 27 | Level: 4.66 Stats OVL | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DHI | PRL | 73.43 | 67 | 72 | 75 | 67 | 72 | 72 | 71 | 50 | 62 | 70 | 69 | 68 | 69 |
Pascal Eenkhoorn | Loaned To: Nordstrom - CA Technologies
Age: 23 | Level: 3.03 Stats OVL | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DHI | PRL | 71.98 | 69 | 73 | 70 | 65 | 72 | 74 | 76 | 65 | 64 | 70 | 68 | 66 | 71 |
Riccardo Minali | Loaned To: Valio - Viking Genetics
Age: 25 | Level: 3.11 Stats OVL | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DHI | PRL | 71.36 | 69 | 52 | 57 | 56 | 69 | 71 | 74 | 59 | 75 | 75 | 62 | 73 | 66 |
Lahcen Saber | Joining: Swisslion Cycling Team
Fees: 1,000,000 After two very successful years in our team, Saber leaves to join up with Swisslion and become their sprint/cobbled leader.
Yoeri Havik | Joining: Duolingo
Fees: 500,000 in any other season, Havik would have continued in the team as an able leadout and cobbles rider. However, relegation meant that he was surplus to the wage cap, and had to be sold.
Rok Korosec | Joining: trans Cycling Team
Fees: 250,000 Korosec joins a team where he fits in perfectly, after having levelled up with us last year. Will be interesting to come up against him this season.
Piet Allegaert | Joining: Campari Asahi Procycling
Fees: 169,000 Allegaert was on the market as we were aware that we would be able to level him up this season. Campari needed a cobbled domestique and the deal was struck to take the longest surviving rider on our roster away from our colours.
Lennard Hofstede | Joining: eBuddy
Fees: Rider Swap Lennard Hofstede joins eBuddy to continue his development, which we would not have able to provide him this season. We cannot think of a better fit than eBuddy for him to be able to do so. Along with Allegaert, Hofstede too joined us in 2017 - both as Stagiares, and breaks our last link to our first season as in the MG. This swap deal involed Jeroen Meijers moving in the opposite direction, before he was once again swapped with Joonas Henttala from Valio - Viking Genetics.
We wish all the outgoing riders the best for the coming season, and big thank you for their contribution to our cause. We look forward to see our talents develop and come stronger to us next term. A word of appreciation to the teams who have taken them on to help us develop them. We also welcome the final additions to our squad and hope they can contribute positively this season.
Stay tuned for a full team presentation, and lots more over the coming week.

A nice couple of sprint pickups in the draft there, especially the Kreder reunion
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Solid draft picks that will score some points on your way back to PCT
I hope Lahcen Saber will be as good and popular for us as he was for you

Suddenly you have a nice sprinter core with especially Van der Sanden and Boev looking very strong. A team that picks so late and gets their top two draft picks can be very happy about that!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

@jandal: Yes, the Kreder story is a feel good one for us
@redordead: Sprints are not our priority this time, but it'll be good to send sprinters to possibly all flat stages on our calendar.
Saber is well suited to PCT and his sprint/cobble abilities should be a good asset to have.
@knockout: We targeted the draft to get sprinters in and succeeded, so yes, very happy about that VDS and Boev are great to have while Kreder should be able to support them well.

Welcome to the 2020 Team unveiling of Philips. We've gathered here today to take a closer look at how we've rebuilt for the Continental Tour, and how the team composition looks like. We will look at eaach terrain and how we expect to line up in them. We will also take a look at the talents that will be riding with us this season.
Climbers and Stage Racers Name | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DH | PRL | Nico Keinath | 73 | 78 | 75 | 74 | 76 | 75 | 74 | 58 | 61 | 69 | 70 | 62 | 74 | Romain Bardet | 66 | 77 | 74 | 59 | 72 | 70 | 71 | 51 | 52 | 75 | 67 | 71 | 59 | Joonas Henttala | 66 | 74 | 68 | 73 | 73 | 72 | 72 | 50 | 60 | 67 | 63 | 71 | 73 | Kevin Inkelaar | 63 | 76 | 68 | 61 | 72 | 73 | 75 | 56 | 60 | 73 | 69 | 69 | 61 | Michael Storer | 69 | 70 | 73 | 68 | 70 | 71 | 69 | 58 | 64 | 70 | 70 | 65 | 71 |
Nico Keinath leads our stage racing charge with Bardet tasked with the pure mountains, and being the second leader in a lot of races. Henttala is the designated domestique for the climbs. Inkelaar too, will be a domestique, and will also be a proime contender for the U25 classification in mountain races that he attends. Despite Storer's primary role being a support rider to Kelderman, we do expect him to join up with the mountain squad in a couple of races.
Name | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DH | PRL | Wilco Kelderman | 70 | 71 | 82 | 70 | 80 | 75 | 73 | 62 | 67 | 72 | 77 | 71 | 70 | Calvin Watson | 70 | 65 | 78 | 68 | 76 | 72 | 70 | 57 | 62 | 72 | 73 | 61 | 67 | Jasper Bovenhuis | 73 | 58 | 71 | 59 | 74 | 70 | 72 | 74 | 62 | 68 | 79 | 65 | 59 | Michael Storer | 69 | 70 | 73 | 68 | 70 | 71 | 69 | 58 | 64 | 70 | 70 | 65 | 71 |
Kelderman needs no introduction and our primary target was to build the team around him. Watson and Storer will be his primary domestiques. We felt that Kelderman himself did not need an extra domestique to perform to our expectations, given his puncher capabilities. We hope we are not proved wrong in our judgement. Bovenhuis's all-round abilities will also see him join the hills squad on occasion.
Name | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DH | PRL | Bert Van Lerberghe | 74 | 60 | 66 | 66 | 75 | 74 | 74 | 77 | 75 | 73 | 68 | 65 | 68 | Tomas Paprstka | 75 | 62 | 69 | 62 | 74 | 70 | 68 | 75 | 70 | 72 | 69 | 78 | 63 | Jasper Bovenhuis | 73 | 58 | 71 | 59 | 74 | 70 | 72 | 74 | 62 | 68 | 79 | 65 | 59 |
Bert van Lerberghe will lead our charge on the cobbles, after having levlled up last season. Paprstka and Bovenhuis will be lieutenants. While we know that the competition in the cobbles is tough this season in the CT, we hope our 1-2-3 punch can provide enough depth scoring to help us in our cause.
Name | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DH | PRL | Geert Van der Sanden | 73 | 60 | 65 | 59 | 71 | 69 | 77 | 67 | 78 | 79 | 64 | 76 | 59 | Igor Boev | 72 | 63 | 65 | 56 | 74 | 67 | 79 | 68 | 78 | 78 | 58 | 75 | 71 | Michel Kreder | 72 | 62 | 69 | 63 | 70 | 66 | 78 | 65 | 77 | 78 | 55 | 63 | 63 | Bert Van Lerberghe | 74 | 60 | 66 | 66 | 75 | 74 | 74 | 77 | 75 | 73 | 68 | 65 | 68 | Tomas Paprstka | 75 | 62 | 69 | 62 | 74 | 70 | 68 | 75 | 70 | 72 | 69 | 78 | 63 |
Van der Sanden and Boev will be our leaders in the sprints this season, while Kreder is expected to support them, and he may get a couple of leadership opportunities himself. There isn't enough cobbled race-days available to Van Lerberghe and Paprstka, and they will join up with the flat squad to provide more firepower in multiple races.
Name | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DH | PRL | Tom Dumoulin | 71 | 59 | 68 | 78 | 75 | 76 | 70 | 52 | 65 | 67 | 66 | 60 | 78 | Joonas Henttala | 66 | 74 | 68 | 73 | 73 | 72 | 72 | 50 | 60 | 67 | 63 | 71 | 73 |
Dumoulin is our absolute leader in Time-Trials. He will also be the captain for our mediocre TTT squads, wherever they might be needed. Henttala is expected to tag along with Dumoulin in races earmarked for the former.
Name | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DH | PRL | Jefferson C. Hernandez | 69 | 66 | 69 | 63 | 67 | 66 | 64 | 61 | 66 | 68 | 66 | 67 | 61 | Ide Schelling | 69 | 68 | 67 | 63 | 69 | 69 | 65 | 63 | 62 | 66 | 71 | 66 | 65 |
Schelling has joined our squad this season and expected to take his first development steps this season. Cepeda Hernandez rides for us on loan this time, and will also be in development mode.
Name | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DH | PRL | Cristian Scaroni | 66 | 68 | 70 | 63 | 69 | 67 | 65 | 65 | 64 | 69 | 67 | 68 | 62 | Gorazd Per | 68 | 65 | 66 | 67 | 67 | 68 | 61 | 69 | 65 | 71 | 63 | 68 | 67 | Marten Kooistra | 69 | 59 | 64 | 58 | 68 | 66 | 57 | 66 | 70 | 70 | 61 | 62 | 63 |
Scaroni is expected to help out our punchers when he races starting August. Per will tag along mostly with the cobbles and flat squads. Kooistra will be an addition to our sprint team.
Name | FLA | MON | HIL | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SPR | ACC | FTR | DH | PRL | Wilco Kelderman | 70 | 71 | 82 | 70 | 80 | 75 | 73 | 62 | 67 | 72 | 77 | 71 | 70 | Nico Keinath | 73 | 78 | 75 | 74 | 76 | 75 | 74 | 58 | 61 | 69 | 70 | 62 | 74 | Bert Van Lerberghe | 74 | 60 | 66 | 66 | 75 | 74 | 74 | 77 | 75 | 73 | 68 | 65 | 68 | Geert Van der Sanden | 73 | 60 | 65 | 59 | 71 | 69 | 77 | 67 | 78 | 79 | 64 | 76 | 59 | Igor Boev | 72 | 63 | 65 | 56 | 74 | 67 | 79 | 68 | 78 | 78 | 58 | 75 | 71 | Michel Kreder | 72 | 62 | 69 | 63 | 70 | 66 | 78 | 65 | 77 | 78 | 55 | 63 | 63 | Calvin Watson | 70 | 65 | 78 | 68 | 76 | 72 | 70 | 57 | 62 | 72 | 73 | 61 | 67 | Romain Bardet | 66 | 77 | 74 | 59 | 72 | 70 | 71 | 51 | 52 | 75 | 67 | 71 | 59 | Tomas Paprstka | 75 | 62 | 69 | 62 | 74 | 70 | 68 | 75 | 70 | 72 | 69 | 78 | 63 | Tom Dumoulin | 71 | 59 | 68 | 78 | 75 | 76 | 70 | 52 | 65 | 67 | 66 | 60 | 78 | Jasper Bovenhuis | 73 | 58 | 71 | 59 | 74 | 70 | 72 | 74 | 62 | 68 | 79 | 65 | 59 | Joonas Henttala | 66 | 74 | 68 | 73 | 73 | 72 | 72 | 50 | 60 | 67 | 63 | 71 | 73 | Kevin Inkelaar | 63 | 76 | 68 | 61 | 72 | 73 | 75 | 56 | 60 | 73 | 69 | 69 | 61 | Michael Storer | 69 | 70 | 73 | 68 | 70 | 71 | 69 | 58 | 64 | 70 | 70 | 65 | 71 | Cristian Scaroni | 66 | 68 | 70 | 63 | 69 | 67 | 65 | 65 | 64 | 69 | 67 | 68 | 62 | Gorazd Per | 68 | 65 | 66 | 67 | 67 | 68 | 61 | 69 | 65 | 71 | 63 | 68 | 67 | Jefferson C. Hernandez | 69 | 66 | 69 | 63 | 67 | 66 | 64 | 61 | 66 | 68 | 66 | 67 | 61 | Ide Schelling | 69 | 68 | 67 | 63 | 69 | 69 | 65 | 63 | 62 | 66 | 71 | 66 | 65 | Marten Kooistra | 69 | 59 | 64 | 58 | 68 | 66 | 57 | 66 | 70 | 70 | 61 | 62 | 63 |
We are very happy with how the transfer season has gone. We were able to get our top Stage Race target in Keinath. We were able to loan out exactly the riders we wanted to. We were able to sell the riders we wanted to, and more. We were able to build a team to challenge on all terrains, helped at the last minute with two fantastic pickups in the Draft. All-in-all, we expect good things this season, and hope our squad can deliver.
The team we have assembled is in a lot of ways reminiscent to our first season, back in 2017, and in the CT. Back then we had two climbers, two punchers, three sprinters, a Northern Classics leader and two Time-Trialists. This time around, our puncher squad is much better, while we lack another leader in Time-Trials. We will be delighted to be able to replicate that kind of success this season. However, at this moment, with this squad, we believe that this is the best ever opportunity we have had of winning a division, and maybe the best we'll have in quite some time to come. We are not making any predictions yet, but we wish to be up there challenging for the CT crown this time around.

Man. Kelderman and Keinath alone should be able to guarantee promotion, and then you bring Van Lerberghe, Watson, Bardet, Dumoulin and all those sprinters into the mix and it's just a very strong team overall. Haven't checked out all conti teams yet, but I'd be shocked to see you outside of the Top 3. Looking forward to steal a few points from you here and there though

I'm absolutely with Cunego, Top 3 should be a safe bet with this team. Really great what you were able to assemble on a CT budget - hats off!
Keinath may not be the best stage racer in the division, but especially in races with TTs he'll definitely deliver.
Kelderman should be in a league of his own this time around; if Moscon can keep his wheel from time to time I'd be happy. I won't even compare our teams in TT and cobbles, as I'm close to nowhere there; the only terrain I see a slight advantage is in sprints.
But all in all, I'm sure you'll easily promote, with a good margin to 6th place. Well done, and have fun with this team - you'll definitely have more of it than last season

Keinath, Dumoulin, Bovenhuis, Van der Sande
Quite a few former Aegon riders, which all should be visible on CT level multiple times.
First two clearly should help you to promote again. Should be a successful season ahead for you. |

@cunego: If we get Top 3, that will be job well done for the season already . I basically went back to the formula that worked to get us promoted, that is to have riders able to challenge on all terrains.
@Fabianski: I think Moscon is an awesome rider to be honest, and I am looking forward to those battles for sure. Hope that last line comes true because last season was depressing
@roturn: Being a Dutch sponsored team, it is no surprise we look at a lot of your riders as potential recruitments Hope you are right as well.
@Croatia: Thanks Let's see how it goes...

Some very good teams in the division and I haven't looked at most of them, but surely it looks like you have a great chance of not just bouncing back up but taking the crown with you as you do. Well done on an active and productive transfers - already looking forward to seeing you back where you belong next season, but first plan right and then enjoy this one

So damn strong for a CT team. Barely lost quality this offseason. Promotion should be an absolute given and the title looks very realistic too
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!
