Seems like my prediction aged well.
Thomas was dropped because he had a very bad crash, but what is up with Yates? He completely baffles me.
Exciting stage, can be an amazing Giro. No one has a strong enough team to strangle the race.

With the early demise of Thomas and probably Yates this Giro now has that perfect B-Movie feel and I love B-Movies, so hoping this is going to be a great Giro. Fuglsang probably the favourite now but Nibali has the experience and Steve K the longevity but it wouldn't surprise me if the podium is contested by a number of outsiders.

Thomas is out of the Giro, he has a fractured pelvis. End of the season for him.

Really looking forward to what Vanhoucke can do. He's one of the younger riders that actually has a more "normal" development process compared to Evenepoel, Pogacar and Hirshi.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

So did anyone actually see the finish photo there? I didn't see a single angle that gives it to Démare.

Neither did I and I actually felt that Ballerini may have won that but given how long the judges took their time to decide I guess they should've got it right BUT once again Sagan doesn't win.

this is the closest finish I've ever seen, might be closer that Weening v Kloden in 2005 (I believe)
also seems like a helicopter flew too low and blew the barriers into riders still finishing with two Vini - Zabu riders injured, Van Empel slightly injured (only small cuts on his finger) but Luca Wackermann severly injured (reportedable unable to recognize his team manager)

I remember someone asking a while back if Ganna would turn out to be a Cancellara or a Wiggins. Well, I think it’s both and perhaps with a bit of van Aert in the mix. |
