really interested to see how you approach this transfer season, and build around your existing core and maxed MAL. Some interesting names available as well.

Im very curious about that myself too
Its nice to be able to build around a strong and quite complete core again though instead of feeling like i have to replace a leader like i felt last season.
Looking forward to any talks with you

Evonik - Home of a stage racer?
The first couple of transfer deals have been sealed and one of our longest standing team members has left the team: Andris Smirnovs (29) who joined the team in 2015 leaves the team for a fee of 325k to Tryg - Ritter Sport where he is expected to take a larger role than here. Dries De Bondt (29) also left our team. He will join Team Popo4Ever p/b Nemiroff as a leadout for newly signed Pascal Ackermann for a fee of 150k.
But we also have our first transfer deal confirmed:
William Chiarello (29) is our first confirmed signing of the transfer period. The Brazilian is one of the first proper stage racers in team history with skills on mountains, hills and even solid abilities in time trialling. He comes for a fee of 1m from Berg Cycles and will earn 175k this season. We are excited to have him!

Would be a waste to send Lopez to Herbiers as my best TT guy...

Our second new face for the season is a loan rider who is contracted to PCT team Aramco DP: Enric Mas (25) was a high priority for us to loan in and we came to an early agreement. Aramco will continue to pay his 55k wage while we compensate them with a loan fee of 150k. Mas will be an important part of our mountains and hills team and while he will have to work for Lopez at times too, he will surely have chances to attack on his own.

Evonik has further departures to announce: Arvin Moazemi (30), Tomas Paprstka (28) and Mike Aaron Egger (27) were sold to make room for new signings.
One of the new signings is Serghei Tvetcov (32). The versatile Romanian is our second new stage racer and he has strengths on both longer and shorter climbs. He also is strong in reduced bunch sprints which could be useful if he joins breakaway groups. He will earn 120k this year.

Time trials are boring, i guess i dont have to argue that. But i recognize that it can enhance the value of a rider having also a good time trialling in his skill set. One of my best riders was Luis Leon Sanchez who had pretty good time trial skills for being mostly a puncheur. If i would be offered an elite time triallist i would consider that too. But for me a mediocre time triallist has little value.

Same. I think he adds something to our squad that we still lacked and should be great adding additional GC points and points from breakaways.

We are very glad to present the next new signing to the team: Gabriel Chavanne (28) joins us from Sauber Petronas Racing for a fee of 620k. He is already familiar with the team management after maxing out his abilities while on loan with the team in 2016 and there hasnt been a single year where we didnt try to convince his manager to let him go. After days, months and years of negotiations, we finally found the solution that helps both of us.
Chavanne is a prologue specialist. Prologues might be rare in this year's PT schedule but he is one of the best in them. But he is more than just that. His skill to ride a high pace for a short period of time can be used as part of a leadout or in an echelon situation, too. For that skill set, we are happy to pay his wage of 60k. He is expected to be our final permanent signing of the year.

Gratz, knowing your appreciation of this type of rider, I am sure he will fit very well with Evonik's planning and bring in some nice results

Thanks Shonak! You're right, he fits in very well with my planning. If my memory is correct, there are only 3 proper flat prologues and the Qatar epilog on our schedule but i've also been approached by managers that think another leadout rider would be needed to have enough for Eislers and Van Stayen so thats certainly a nice bonus role to have. With good flat and res he will be quite usable in that role as well. I like riders that are versatile and can cover at least two roles in my squad and he certainly fits that perfectly.

Happy to see Chavanne finally join your team, especially with a deal sammyt also is happy with, looking at what you've written here Disappointed I couldn't ask for him myself this season, but at least you can be sure I'll come knocking next transfer season
And as both Shonak and Abhi have said, he should fit very, very well in your team. Looking forward to see what he can do in prologues, but especially in flat races if he's given the chance and not riding in support for MVS. His flat and resistance definitely makes for an interesting combination! |

Abhishek - Perfect duo <3 Where is the 5km Duo Prologue event?
ember - Prepare to be disappointed. Tbh i dont think he will be ride a lot of flat races without MVS and without Eislers so his own scoring outside of prologs will likely be limited. I dont think he would sprint a lot with the number of better sprinters present. But maybe he will link particularly well with 76RES Eislers...
