PCM.daily Stat Discussion

also thinking of changing Pedersen as part of the stretch could be 79/79, 80/79, 80/78, 80/77 etc Suggestions? Bear in mind though that he has very powerful backups

Well, I see Groenewegen has 2 stage wins in Valencia and 1 in UAE, not the biggest races and Valencia didn't have much competition either. Pologne probably the biggest race he was in and he would've been beaten by Jakobsen there.

So looking back at the season before might be better, he had 1 TDF stage win, while Ewan had 3. All in all, I don't think Groenewegen should be above the rest.

But that one stage win was against Bennett, Ackermann and Gaviria and these middle east races are normally good indicators for sprinters as they are usually totally flat.

Groenewegen is the hardest to stat and could be 83/82, 83/81 or 82/82 imo

Ok, but the other sprint stage he only got 4th behind Ackermann, Ewan and Barbier. The semi sprint stage Ewan won before Bennett he got dropped, so if you insist on 83 he needs really weak backup stats. But I'd still go 82/82, as I don't think he's really faster than the others.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

well 2 votes for 82/82 is a strong indicator that is what he should be, unless anybody contests this then that is what he will be.

Groenewegen still is the best sprinter, especially in sprints over longer distance. I'd propose 83/81, he definitely is faster than Bennett f.e. if given the same leadout and I'd say he's faster than everybody else in a normal, controlled sprint.

Croatia does make a good point about Bennett, he benefits a lot from his leadout train. Maybe he should be 81, but I'd still keep the rest equal.

Ewan is the fastest sprinter. He proved that in the tour last year and again this year. His train is not the best, so he is not invincible, as Cavendish was in the past.

In general good stats for the sprinters and CG riders alike!

I would definetely put Groenewegen at 83/81 as he still seems to have the highest max speed and wins long flat sprints. With lower acc and hill he shouldn't be dominant in burst or hill sprints anyway, so this seems suitable.

Pedersen i see much more as a power sprinter, I don't know if i missed something, but i would rather stat him similar to Kristoff, 80/77 or 79/77 and with high backup-stats, especially STA and REC (After he did so well in the final week of the tour) compared to other sprinters.

Also, i don't see Demare being a power sprinter as much as his stats reflect. He has proven really dominant in the restart of the season, especially in the french NC. I would give him 81/79.

Maybe Nizzolo is a bit high at 81/81. I'll suggest 80/81 until he actually wins GT stages (despite his 2 Points Jerseys in the giro in 2015 and 2016).

Are you serious ? What has Groenewegen won, that makes him so good?

I agree about Groenewegen 83/81, Ewan i think 82/83

These are all three some very valid points I'd sign off right away.

To the Ewan discussion: He is the best from a messy situation with a lot of slipstream sprinting. However, if you have Groenewegen and Ewan starting out side by side with 200m to go I'd bet all my money on Groenewegen. His hill and acceleration stat will make Ewan feel pretty equal to Groenewegen (in an 82/83 vs. 83/81 szenario) imo, and also draw their sprinting styles best.

He has been quite dominant in flat boulevard sprints in Paris-Nice, UAE, Dubai and also the Tour in the past couple of years. I don't want to link you all the individual stages, but please do check his PCS profile if you didn't see his wins already: https://www.procyclingstats.com/rider...roenewegen

Ewan has won stages in all 3 GT.

About Demare I think 80/79

Tafiolmo
These are going to be the sprint stats as things stand and taking all into consideration Ewan is the fastest here. Also saw a comment about Ewan’s train being weaker than Bennett but bear in mind that he lost Degenkolb and in-game Degenkolb makes a great last leadout man for Ewan

Groenewegen 83/81
Ewan 82/83
Ackermann 82/82
Bennett 82/82
Viviani 81/82
Jakobsen 81/82
Gaviria 81/81
Demare 81/79
Nizzolo 80/81
Kristoff 80/77
Bol 80/76
Pedersen 80/76
Merlier 79/81
Sagan 79/80
WVA 79/77
Coquard 78/79

We will keep everybody informed and at the moment we are actually doing testing for the GT riders with the higher stats in the Tour de France. At the moment both Roglic and Pogacar are too strong which doesn't make for great gaming, so we are trying to balance this a bit.

Also good to see Merlier get an upgrade, he's winning a lot lately, but the entire team might need a boost as they're really flying lately, possibly getting ready for the WT. Vermeersch and Rickaert won classics, Meisen won the German NC and guys like Krieger and De Bondt are also having a good season.

And De Bondt just took the Belgian NC, just to reinforce my point Pfft

How does your stats for MvdP look like? I found him severely underrated in the original DB. He needs a bump in SPR to 78, FL and RES should be as high as anyone (80 i guess), and HI should be at least 78. I guess that after the upcoming classics he will deserve a bump in both STA and COB aswell

That seems all a bit too much. If anything, his season so far calls for a downgrade, not an upgrade (but I agree we need to wait until after the classics).
