Yeah I really hated watching that. Luckily English commentary have receioved word Remco was lucid and injury-wise seeming a lot better than might have been feared by the circumstances. Still an awful crash but very relieved to hear that.

Ciccone's steady development is also really nice to see. |

Pity for Bennett, really hoped he'd take it, especially after Mollema got dropped. Incredible blowup from all Trek riders.
Also, Schachmann got hit by a car that came on the road in the final stages. Hope he doesn't have any injuries. At least he's on his bike again. Crazy accident though.

Gutted by this, would have been so cool if Bennett could have won but just didn't quite have it over Fuglsang there Probably the best chance for a while of such a high-profile win for a Kiwi male cyclist. Very proud of him anyway as always and as I said after Piemonte I hope he's proven himself worthy of more days leading next year.

Intense race and cool to see Fuglsang taking a bite at another monument. Denmark sure has an interesting one-day setup with him and Pedersen on good Form.

Fuglsang's career is so peculiar, reached his peak at 34/35 and who knows what he will be able to do later, guessing he spent too much time on the shadow of bigger names like Nibali, Aru, just needs a proper improvement in Grand Tours. Maybe this year, if racing is clear from October, under these special circumstances, he can achieve something bigger as the overlap between Giro/Vuelta might benefit some usual underdogs.
Gutted for Bennett though. Oh and Schachmann's incident is a joke. |

It's home. For the second year in a row, Fuglsang takes a victory in a monument. Two monuments and a World Cup of one and a half years for Denmark |

Every year the same shit though, Bakelants, De Plus, Edo Maas, etc. No pillows, no haystacks, nothing.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Another bad crash that could've been avoided with better race preperation.
As for the winner Fuglsang without doubt one of the most stylish and strongest looking riders on a bike and imo needs at least one more monument which would be a LBL or Lombardia again to do justice to his talent.

Fractured pelvis for Evenepoel. Possibly season over for him. |

Apparently he broke his pelvis, which can take several months to heal, so no more Giro (and probably any other races) for Evenepoel this season.

Terrible shame about Remco obviously for the rider first and foremost but also for us the audience, as we have lost the opportunity to see what his limits would've been over the rest of this season.

He also bruised his lungs apparently.
And here's a video of the accident with Schachmann. The older woman was shocked (kinda felt sorry for her) and she said she didn't know there were cyclists riding there. If that's the case then it's an awful mistake from the organization. https://wielerrevue.nl/artikel/307162...chmann-aan

Ouch. Luckily Schachmann was all right, but that could've gone really bad. |
