Jan Ullrich what ratings would you give him ?
Etienne22
What stats would you give him at his best in 1997?
And what are his notes in Jan Ullrick's db 1997?
Thank you in advance for your answers

Pretty much what Dumoulin has. Apparently there's only 1 way biology allows a time trialist be set up for a GT contender.
TT, prologue, resistance 81-82ish
flat, mountain, recovery 79-80
hill, stamina a little bit better than TD on account of the many one-day races he finished second at Grin 77-78ish
sub 70 acceleration and sprint
he never rode much cobbles, probably sub 70 too
don't know how his descending was
I'm unsure about his barodeur skill/mentality. He very rarely attacked in stage races on account of him being a time trialist. He had the chrono in his pocket and he had minimal explosiveness. He didn't need to and he couldn't either. But he reacted well to moves in one-day races.

He wasn't the pure time trialist Dumoulin was, but I agree that might be the best comparison with current riders. He could just produce so much power despite being overweight for most of his career.

If we ignore the pretty much permanent doping, I'd say his main skill should be his resistance, he was just a powerhouse as climber or time trialer, without being a real specialist.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Ullrich was a natural climber right away (unlike TD who had to train and trade off some of his power against the clock to become a good climber). But still he was a time trialist first and foremost. He didn't have the explosiveness of even the stage racers, but he was 2x ITT world champion. He climbed like a time trialist too, high tempo, low cadence, no accelerations, no changes of pace. In PCM terms he was a TT+stage rider.

Agree with some of the suggestions for Ullrich and Ullrich was an absolute beast of a rider and almost the definition of the word. He relied on brute force like Merckx and therefore RES should be his main weapon. His weakness was that he was often overweight hence the nickname "Pork chop" and he wasn't the most intelligent of riders either. He wasn't the tactician that Armstrong was and he wasn't crafty like Pantani either.

To get the best stats for him, it might be worth you putting the stats that you have for his main rivals like Armstrong and Pantani etc here and a comparison with them can be done.
