Not really sure Kruijswijk can't do much better than he is at the moment. Top 5 will do just fine. I'm really hoping I can keep Bennett in the top 10 though.
As for the pace, I've automated a lot of the process (stage profile + cropping pictures + results) and it takes like less than 5 minutes to have it all done. Then I just need to do the writing part and that's it

The first opportunity for sprinters in a while and UAE were determined to make the best out of it. With Gaviria not winning any stages so far, compared to the five he had last year, they definitely had to make up for a rather disappointing Giro
While Van Poppel got blocked, Gaviria indeed looked set for a stage win as he battled out against Ackermann in the final kilometre. But right before the finish line, Sam Bennett and Laporte jumped from behind them, with the Irish rider taking the stage win

Bob Jungels would have loved to put another stage win to his name in this Giro, especially one on Blockhaus. His hopes were shattered though when a very strong Nibali managed to bring the gap to what were the last four escapees on the road.
Neither of the riders on the overall podium were able to follow Nibali, but he wasn't really a direct threat to any of them as he was about 2 minutes behind Oomen. Adam Yates led the chase in the favorites group, with Oomen also giving a helping hand, while Pinot struggled to keep up with the others for most of the climb.
Steven Kruijswijk wasn't able to follow the pace of Yates and Oomen and opted to ride the climb at his own pace. George Bennett continued his amazing Giro adventure though as he was Jumbo delegate in the group
Quite surprisingly, Nibali didn't have enough left in the tank to challenge for the stage win, which meant the opportunity rose again for Jungels, but it was Buchmann who took the stage win. A disappointing GC rider for the German, but at least he saves his race with a stage win. Speaking of GC, Jungels with an amazing jump today, up to 6, sitting now behind the two Jumbo riders

Wow, what a race Jungels is having. Bennett does look to be the strongest on your team now, but with so little time left, maybe Steven is still the man to work for?

On this climb I let them be every man for himself. And I think that's I'm gonna do in the next stages as well. It's not like one of them is going to finish higher than fifth so there is no point in sacrificing the other.

Seem the right approach, getting two good results in stead of one (maybe) slightly better.

The pack had no intent at all in catching the breakaway today even more so when the biggest threats, Formolo and Buchmann, were dropped from the front of the race on the second category climb.
Masnada and Bongiorno attacked at the top of the last first category climb of the day, but they would be brought back on the downhill. The final climb was rather easy and it all came down to a sprint between the breakaway riders where Teuns brought Bahrain's third win of the race
Most of the main favorites finished together today, except for Adam Yates as he snatched a few more seconds from his rivals as he sprinted away in the last corner of the climb

Seems the right approach to have them both go solo, seems to work thus far

Despite having the ideal route for a breakaway, the stage ended up with a sprint between the GC favorites. Terrible news for Bol, who was hoping that Yates would not be getting any purple points todya.
The finish was quite close with Nibali just beating Oomen at the finish line. It would have been a fantastic win for the Dutchman, but it's a special win for Nibali too, who at 36 might not have much time left in the spotlight.

The race started quite well for Jumbo with Groenewegen taking the opening stage. But with Van Aert missing out on the winning move in the second stage and the next to going to breakaways, it looked like Van Aert's strike in Norway will be over.
But the Belgian did not give up and attacked on the tricky stage 5 finale. Despite not being awarded a time gap, winning the stage was enough to bring him at the top of the overall standings and winning the race despite having the same time as two other riders for the second year in a row!
Van Aert helds off the pack's comeback to win the stage and the overall

Bennett had a great Giro. He did not win any stages and he will end up dropping two places in the GC today, but a top 10 and the blue jersey is definitely an accomplishment to be proud of
Bob Jungels really saved the Giro for Deceuninck, with Dumoulin and Roglic being nowhere near their form from the past two years. Jungels will take his third stage win of the race today and overtake Kruijswijk in the GC as well
Yesterday's win was no fluke for Nibali as the Italian is in brilliant form in this Giro finale. He had a great day today to steal Pinot's place on the podium. The Frenchman can't be happy with that but he has really been struggling in the last week
Oomen was flying today and he was not far from Jungels' time. Despite being more than 1 minute behind Yates at the start of the day, there were moments where he really threatened the pink jersey
Adam Yates didn't have the best of days, but he pulled off a great lose management to finish 30 seconds behind the Dutchman, more than enough to keep the pink jersey

Despite a very interesting finish to this year's Giro, the pack had absolutely no intention of bringing back the breakaway. Marc Hirschi attacked his fellow escapees on the cobbles and got away to enjoy a beautiful stage victory
In the pack the biggest news of the day was Kruijswijk's puncture on the cobbles, but luckily for him, the Dutch rider was able to rejoin the pack and avoid any time loses. No changes at the top of the GC today and Adam Yates takes his maiden Grand Tour win, showing he is just as great of a rider as his brother

Good result overall with both Kruijswijk and Bennett, though shame you couldn't hang on to the top-5, Jungels was absolutely flying in the end. |

Two in the Top 10 is still quite a nice result, and Jungels being up there is kinda nice to see. Just unfortunate he beat Steven to a Top 5.

Yeah, it was disappointing to lose top 5. More so to a breakaway rider. Now I understand why my riders that were set on default settings were trying to chase breakaways with Jungels in them even though Bennett was there too

Lost a bit too much in the ITT, but otherwise a fine Giro
Congrats with Wout Van Aert in Norway.

It probably wasn't the most entertaining race for the French fans to see Bardet and Barguil working for Geogeghan Hart, put it was definitely the right decision by AG2R as the Brit went on to win all mountain stages and the overall rankings. Geraint Thomas finished second as the two British riders gave us a preview of what is most likely to be seen in July at the Tour de France, while late Giro performer, Vincenzo Nibali rounded up the podium.
Tao finishes it off in style
Sivakov had a good race, especially in the last stage as he came quite close to taking the stage win, but he started too far from the front to be able to beat Tao or Thomas. He ended up finishing fourth and winning the white jersey, a classification in which he seconded by Powless.

It was pretty much the perfect race for Van Poppel as he repeated his 2019 performance on home soil. After finishing second to team - mate, Timo Roosen in the prologue, he went on to win the next 2 mass sprint finishes. And with the last two stages going to breakaways made from riders that were out of the GC fight it was all set for a Jumbo 1-2, with an additional two riders in the top 10.

Decent to get top 10 at the Giro and solid at the Criterium as well, future looks bright for Sivakov, maybe a Menchov 2.0?
