That moment when you have a strong Lotto Jumbo team, with four good classics riders (but not superstars) in a select group of 10 with 50km to go in the Flanders Classic...maybe we have a chance to survive the Kwaremont and get one of my riders a sprint win against the odds...
...and then three of the riders crash heavily.
Damn.
We could have handled any of the attacks from that group. We had the strategy to win the Classic with for Lampaert or my young sprinter...
But no.
How about you? Had any good classic potentials ruined by the difficulties of the cobbles?
Also happened to me in PCM15. I had 3 out of 4 in the leading group, like really good cobblers Boonen, Terpstra and Vandenbergh. Only Stannard managed to hang on but somehow we used too much energy on the cobbles. I tried attacking with Boonen first, but Stannard brought him back. Then I may have made a mistake because I wanted Boonen to win this one (he had never won Omloop Het Nieuwsblad before) and Terpstra ended up leading Stannard to a win. Not my best moment.

PCM16 was worse, one time I was playing with Boonen, the best sprinter in the final group at Paris-Roubaix, and somehow some Aussie from the breakaway outsprints him? Honestly I don't get this game some times

Oh yeah, don't get me started on PCM16, I managed to win the Tirreno with GVA ffs
I had an experience recently at De Ronde that wasn't really bad PCM but bad me. I've never been very good at the cobbled classics so I was very excited when, playing with Trek, I managed to get Stuyven into the final group of five. And he was the best sprinter there, too, even though not by much, and still somewhat fresh. I was in fourth position going into the final kilometres but instead of taking the initiative, I waited and waited. But no one started the sprint until ~800m left (which might be the bad PCM part of this, but also maybe somewhat realistic at the end of such a race) and then there wasn't enough road left to overtake anyone. I finished fourth with the red bar almost entirely full. Was the most frustrating PCM moment in a long, long time
