I always wanted to start one of these!
Stijn Devolder retires. I guess most people only knew he was still racing when they were listing past winners of the Ronde Van Vlaanderen on the startlist.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

George Bennet has surgically removed three ribs to try to cure sliiping rib syndrome. If this helps with his issues he's certainly a force to be reckoned with next year. |

Greipel signs for Israel/Katusha merger.
EDIT: Said merger but still haven’t got the full picture of the project yet. |

It seems like almost no Katusha riders will be on the merged roster...

From what I'm understanding this isn't a straight up merger, but rather ICA buying the team's entry (which had to be approved by the UCI). I does not stipulate that ICA is obliged to acquire the remaining contracts and since the Katusha management is dissolved, so are the contracts, meaning that the riders are free agents and can sign with whoever they want.
So far 11 riders are now free agents as a result of the buyout. Some may find home in ICA, while others may look for greener pastures elsewhere. Rick Zabel and Nils Politt could go to Bora since the chance of Ralph Denk holding onto Sam Bennett are more slim to none with each passing moment with the hyped up move to Deceuninck - Quick Step looming. But with Sagan being the focal point and Ackermann will now have more chances now that Bennett will be out I don't see the point of having Zabel. Same goes for Politt - Bora is simply not a team that chases GC wins.
Dowsett could go to either Ineos or Movistar, but wouldn't be surprised to call it a day if he fails to sign with a WorldTeam or top ProTeam.

Yeah, it’s more ICA buying Katusha’s place. What made me confused is that several sources do indicate the remaining 11 riders as contracted to Israel/Katusha (like Cycling Quotient, and some German newspaper that mentions Greipel’s transfer), while others still remain in a misty situation. Though Nils Politt could fit at Bora, and have a better team for the classics and perhaps make a competitive duo with Sagan (would he?), seems to me ICA can benefit from retaining him given I don’t see anyone else to lead the team for the cobbled classics. |

Some 18 year old Spanish talent has signed a four year deal with Ineos, Carlos Rodriguez his name.
