I'm more than surprised what my yesterday performance. I'm currenctly 10th in GC. Hoping I can manage that today too!
I actually don't feel well today. That previous stage has costed me a lot.
I lost the touch with the peloton pretty far from home - 29 km to finish. Thankfully with that flat section we did catch them up.
We start the last climb of the day - 7.7 km.
3 km!
I'm happy with my performance. Not the best especially with how I was feeling, but I'm satisfied.

Not too long, but flat ITT to finish the race. I'm not the best TT in the world. Currently protecting 8th place in GC. I have a minute in advance, so I might save my place in GC.

First stage is flat, with one not very hard, and very long climb in second half of the stage. Nothing dangerous for sprinters. Again few WT teams to ride against me. Stage ended with massive sprint.

What a final stage it is! I cannot wait! I'm currently 8th in GC, but the are no time differences. I'll try my best.
Actually I don't feel too good today. It's sad that it happened to me on last stage. And I'm riding in white jersey too! Four riders from my team went into an early break. One of them quickly dropped and came back to the peloton.
22 km to go - we start to climb on Etna. I was dropped pretty fast sadly. Time to setup an effort good for me.
This climb was really hard...

I thought I might get a chance for final top 10, but last stage was brutal. I wasn't feeling well and being out of form wasn't helping too. Maybe next time.

There is no break tho. On the very next day I ride my first U23 race.
I was scheduled to work for my team-mates, since one of them is considered one of the favourites. Only 46 riders in the race, so really small number of youngsters entered.
16 km to go - 22 riders in front group; tempo is slow
5 km - 17 riders in front group, only the sprint is left.
Wow, that was unexpecting.

Now few one day classics. Almost all are U23.
Again my job for today was working the front of the group. This time much more riders in it than in previous one. 86 riders compared to 46 is a big difference.
6,5 km - one last short ascend.
Nothing exciting - sprint from small group of riders. Rest was too much behind to take part in it.
Someone said nothing exciting? I guess it's my first win in my career! And we also made the double!

I'm really exciting to ride this classic. My previous victory boosted my confidence so much that I can't wait to fight here for another win. Those laps can create some gaps, so I need to be careful.
I said that those short climbs can create some splits and time gaps! 12 km to go. I'm in the front group with 7 other riders.
4 km - it's now bigger group fighting for the win.

Two more U23 races.
On final climb I decided to setup a tempo. With 8.5 km to go, front group was having only 10 riders.
With 3,5 km left front group had still 10 riders in it. Sprint will be exciting!
6th place is good, but if only I was a bit faster on finishes.

I'm wasn't feeling quite well here, so I was struggling more than I thought I will. Team was expecting top 10 from me so it was double pressure to deliver here.

Last U23 race for some time. Flat, so the only possible outcome was massive sprint.

Now things get a bit exciting here. After many U23 races I'm starting in 1.1 classic. I hope I can survive those climbs throughout the stage and get to final sprint. For the first half I was working for our leader outsider, but I tried to save as much energy as I could for final sprint.
I didn't survive even the first big climb, sad. It's still 51 km to finish.

They really slow the pace down - 12.8 km left
After all those problems... still able to finish in the top 10!

Stage three is a short, steep ITT. Only 2.6 km, but a really hard one with high tempo since the very beginning. I'm currently 8th in GC. I hope I can finish higher than that. Surprisingly, I'm one of the favourites here.

My calendar for June/July part:
This time we have another one day classic. Route can be selective, I have to be confident and not lose any time here before final kms.
The situation is very interesting. I decided to setup a high tempo on last big climb, and with 25 kms left I was up front with 27" lead over 11 riders.
But only 3 kms later I got caught. Only 6 riders were up front with 6 km to go. I decided to attack just few seconds later.
Sprinting for very good 3rd place!

Quick and short stage race in Albania is my next target. Stages are categorized as flat, but last kms are actually interesting. Not fully flat, and that short climb on stage three can be a good place to attack.
Like I said, last 2 kms aren't really flat.
I guess the peloton wasn't expecting that!

Another hilly classic. Downhill on final kms makes it more dangerous, but also it means the winner will come from either small group of riders, or alone from attacking on final climb.
This time I decided to join an early break. We didn't have more than 4 minutes lead.
We start the final climb. 17.5 km to go - barely a minute lead.
Alone against all odds! 15 km!

Flat classic. Few climbs, but nothing dangerous. Team wanted top 50 from me, which isn't really hard goal to get. I'm not the fastest man, but on those flat classics I can get decent result.

Welcome to the Giro U23! 1079 km - 2 ITT (I don't feel quite confident here; they are not so long, but my ITT abilities are very limited), 2 hilly stages and 3 really hard mountainous parts of the race. Let's see how that race will go right before national championships.
First stage is a short ITT. I already lost quite of some time here. I hope that I can gain more time in mountains.

Stage 3 is more difficult one. My team is expecting me to win whole Giro U23. But it's going to be really really hard. I need to be aggressive in mountains.
I'm one of the outsiders for that stage, but I'm expecting a sprint from smaller group. There is too far to finish from last mountain. Unless we will setup a fast pace...
At least we have to try it.

My team was actually hoping I can win that 4th stage. I'm happy I did it. But situation in GC isn't looking that good. Sure, mountain stages are to follow, but I have to deliver on those. I have to count I might lose another 1'30" on last ITT. Actually I'm expecting around 1'40". So I have to gain 3 minutes on all my opponents before last stage. That will be hard to do. And my team is hoping I can do that! Oh my...

Two more stages for today, right before 2nd rest day. One mountainous, one flat.
I'm the main favourite for today. And that last climb is famous Oropa!

It's looking good!
What an amazing victory right here! That was an incredible performance. I completely destroyed the rivals and I'm in really good position for final victory. Still a lot of work to do, but it's looking good.

That was by far the most impressive performance on flat stage. We created a brilliant train to protect me and I would never imagine that being so great that I could fight for yet another stage win. I literally never been that fast on finishes like here! Never!

Stage 7 is another flat stage for sprinters. Nothing really exciting to say, or interesting except finish. Climbs are not dangerous or even really hard.
Holy! I decided to setup a tempo towards the finish, and go full gas with 1,5 km. I didn't expect that! It's 4th win in a row now!

Stage 8 is again a mountain stage. Doesn't look really hard, especially last climb of the day - Passo dell'Aprica - 12 km, average of 3,8%. That climb in the middle of the stage have 15 km with average of 6%.
We decided to setup a pace on Passo della Mendola.
Not a big group of riders - 44 km to go.

Stage 9 is last difficult stage of this race. There is only flat ITT after it. But! I can still lose it. First of all - I need to gain a bit more time on that stage. That might not be that hard considering last results. Last climb for today is Colma di Sormano - only 4.9 km long, but average of 12%, maximum - 22,9%!
