6.7km opening TT. Tim Roe starts very early but posts a very good time that a lot of favourites struggle to make. He finishes 5th place on the stage with only Craddock and Brajkovic ahead out of the GC riders. Campero only 23 seconds behind.
Stage 2 is a flat stage. With no real sprinter here we didn't expect a lot. However, Matzka (our sprinter) finding his way into the breakaway surprised us all.
No one present at the front during the sprint, Hochmann takes the win, moving on...
The first mountain stage. Roe still very well placed on GC. However, he gets dropped early and loses lots of time. Campero and Aasvold come home 3'06 behind winner Pinot today. Piter into GC 10th.
The long TT. Roe was expected to do quite well from his result on day 1. He managed 24th 2'25 down which is not too bad. Campero had a good time trial finishing 3'31 down in 39th.
A second flat stage and Edmondson jumps into the break. He picks up lots of KOM points.
Lone rider wins and Baterdene as best rider sprinting to 17th.
The hill stage and the reason we brought Edmondson. He makes the early attempts but a high GC rider tries to get away and ruins it for everyone.
A second group with Daspuntsag gets away, but he the same GC rider does it again and the peloton chase it down.
Finally, with 35km to go a group of 10 including Aasvold gets away. This group remains out the front and Aasvold stays with all the attacks. However, he is not strong enough in the sprint and can only manage 2nd place behind Alizadeh. Edmondson took the lead of the KOM today.
The final stage is a big one. Aasvold gets dropped early, Roe and Campero remain until the finale.
Kiserlovski takes the victory and the GC, Roe takes 8th on the stage just ahead of the group containing Campero (imagine if Roe lost no time on the first mountain stage)
Not a terrible race overall but we do go home empty handed. Campero managed a top 10 and Aasvold 15th.
Coppa Placci up next with Gunman and Haas as our two hopes in that race!

Great ITT
Campero as highest finished in 10th. Aasvold surprised me here with 15th in a very hard and all round race. Roe was amazing in the Time trials! Rider of the Race for him!
A huge day for the team and Piter Campero as he picks up his first win on the team and a big win for the team itself! Tour d'Andorra was always going to be a race we thought we could do well but Campero was amazing and so consistent on all stages! He ended up finishing with a stage win and 6th overall! Amazing effort from him and the team!!
Race started off great for the Kiwi squad! Gunman smashed out a top 5 in the opening prologue and almost didn't leave the top 10 on GC again!
The second stage was won by the breakaway but Von Hoff came home for a 6th place on the day which is nothing to be ashamed of!
The first day in the hills on day 3 and Edmondson hits the front! He takes 6th place just 35 seconds down on the days winner. He moved into 8th overall.
Day 4 wasn't too great for us. It didn't suit any of our riders. Edmondson took 12th on the day. Moving on...
Gunman showed his TT strength on day 5 with another great finish in the longer ITT. 6th place on the day and keeps his amazing overall position! 4th overall at the days end. Edmondson 12th.
Day 6 was the day Edmondson got his revenge of the first day of the year in cycling. Edmondson takes his very first win with BNZ Cycling ahead of Cyril Gautier who has finished ahead of him many times this season! An amazing sprint from the Brit was enough to seal the deal and he moved into 4th overall with Gunman now 9th.
Stage 7 and Gautier got the win he missed out on in day 6. Edmondson over the line in 3rd with another great stage! Now 3rd overall!
Final day. Breakaway win. Moving into the presentations...
Meyer takes the GC with Edmondson taking one of out first ever GC podiums! An amazing effort! Gunman also finished 8th overall and Hass in 12th.
Finally, for the first time ever! BNZ Cycling takes home the teams classification!

Race awards above. Edmondson takes highest finisher and rider of the race, the obvious choice. Taylor Gunman takes surprise rider. We really didn't expect the incredible performance we got from home! Great effort!
We have had some previous luck in Bulgaria. Usually competing in the top 10. Not saying this year was different but we just didn't have the luck as Tim Roe misses out by 26 seconds on 10th overall.
Stage 1 and Tim Roe dropped early on the climb. He limited his losses to just 44 seconds of lost time and moves forward to the ITT.
Roe being the strong TT rider that he is finishes in an incredible 5th place as one of the highest GC riders on the stage. He moves into 11th overall 42 seconds behind the leader.
Stage 3 saw Hindley jump into the breakaway. Roe had a much better day and was seen chasing the attacks down at the front of the peloton not far from the finish. He took 9th place on the stage and moved into 7th overall!
Carsi won the sprint home with ease. However, there were 7 riders up the road
Final stage. Roe looked really good throughout, however his climbing ability just wasn't quite good enough to mix it with the big guys. He finished 16th place over 2 minutes behind the winner and unfortunately gets pushed down to 11th overall.

Tim Roe takes highest finisher and rider of the race. He had some great results but was just unlucky in the final. Hindley takes surprise rider as he was active throughout in the breakaways and attacking and was a great team rider!! His future is very bright!

Maani Altanzul
27 Years Old - New XP : MAX - Potential : 4 - Upgrade : Track Sprint
Altanzul was on a year long loan this season over at T-Mobile. He pushed himself to the limit in the PT and it paid off as he improved his sprinting and Prologue ability a lot! He has grown into someone who will be very helpful for Von Hoff in the sprints throughout 2019 and perhaps have an opportunity to go for himself. He is a great asset to the team and we can't wait to see him back in the BNZ jersey next season!

Baterdene is the next great Mongolian sprinter! He has been an amazing help with the leadouts all season and this continues to help him grow! He will stop growing for now but we hope to make the PCT next season so we can continue his growth. Perhaps even a PT loan for next season could be a possibility! Baterdene will be helpful in the future of the team!

Nick Reddish...the potential future star of New Zealand cycling. He is a very interesting rider with so many different avenues available! We have decided, along with Nick, that training in the Track Sprint discipline will bring forward his biggest strengths. He will be a huge workhorse in the future and a great leadout rider. As well as an incredibly strong rider throughout a short prologue. We cannot wait to see Nick in the future!

Miles Scotson is an amazing TT rider. He has huge potential and if he continues working as hard as he is, he could become a huge threat in the time trial discipline! Miles is the older brother of Callum Scotson and both have a huge amount of potential!

Especially Schultz and Reddish of course - the latter could become a great early leadout man with his maxed stats, and Schultz and his RES is pretty cool You have such a base of cool riders such as Edmondson, Roe, Gunman (who is welcome to come to the PCT through an alternate route ), and Aasvold to start with and a cool homegrown future it would be a shame to not see you promote next year!
